This is an old hotel with ultra modern rooms. We were completely shocked when we walked in our room. It was spotless and quite inviting. We will definitely be staying there again. Thanks.

“Lovely Stay”

I stayed 2 nights. The complimentary airport shuttle service was great. My room was recently remodeled and everything was new. The a/c--heating unit was hard to program but the staff came to assist. The staff was friendly, very helpful and accommodating. I had a great stay and would recommend it.

Great for airport layover. Appears to have had recent upgrading and the dining room was being done while I stayed there.

“Just what we needed”

My wife and I stay here one night to catch a flight at Gatwick the next morning. This is a great hotel for that purpose. Ten minutes drive to the airport or they have a shuttle. Clean, comfortable, and spacious room. And we got the wake up call when we asked for it.

“Charming old world atmosphere”

I enjoyed my stay very much. I got the motel shuttle from the airport and returned to the airport the next day the same way. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I believe this was an exceptional value for the price. The motel was charming and had some old world characteristics. I would recommend it to families or anyone on a budget. The only thing I thought was strange was that the dining room did not actually have waitstaff to take your order. You order at the bar and the food is then brought to you. I had the chicken and leek pie which was very tasty! I enjoyed the food very much.

“Free Shuttle to/from Gatwick Airport”

Make sure you ask for a Renovated room. They are gradually refurbishing all of them and once renovated they are excellent. Great location for Gatwick (10 minutes by free shuttle). I've stayed there now on a number of occasions. Within walking distance are pubs, some shops (pharmacy, small supermarket). Hotel restaurant is pretty good for dinner (pub type menu), but avoid 'continental breakfat' - for 4 pounds you get some cereal and toast. No internet, but across the road there's a hotel with WiFi service. I think I paid 5 pounds for an hour.

After an 11 hour flight, Skylane provided all we needed: pleasant service; clean, comfortable accommodation and reasonable food.
