“Nothing spectacular, but decent value”

Our suite at the Hotel Laguna was a bit lacking in decor and ambience, but it had a nice view of the river and a working kitchen (2 burners and a convection/microwave oven, plus a dishwasher), so overall it was good value, if not anything very luxurious. The location is good -- at the end of Hastings St, a few minutes' walk from a supermarket -- but be prepared for the courtyard pool to have lots of noisy, splashing children during the day.

“great location, just plan your checkin”

I enjoyed everything about this hotel except the check-in experience. if you plan to arrive after 5 pm, I would advise making advance arrangements. Keys can be left in a box but you need a code to access it. The hotel itself is very conveniently located on the main shopping street, very close to the beach, and an easy walk to the bus station to Brisbane airport etc. The rooms were iclean and comfortable, and they are equipped with small refrigerators, kettles, toasters, and dishes. Overall a good experience despite the glitch at check-in..
