As usual - great. Comfortable bed, good shower (Room 1), really good food, top class hospitality (Thanks Mark & Lisa (oh, and Uncle Dave and Alan)). The evening menu is good and tasty, and the portions large: breakfast here is a great start to your day.
A country inn in a tiny village without any shops. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. A bit of a hidden gem.
Quiet and very well run by proprietor who is also a very good cook. Have stayed about 3 times now.
Landlord Mark is very friendly and hard working as is Andy who was attentive and accomodating. The room was good value for the price charged and the bar and restaurant were clean and cosy. The food menu was quite extensive with plenty of choice. The Sunday lunch we chose was not quite to our liking as we like our roasts well cooked and crunchy potatoes, but not crunchy vegatables (aldente). Having said that, the breakfast is first rate and generous. Well worth travelling for and included in the room price if you are staying the night. Overall, an enjoyable stay with friendly staff and we would visit again if in the area.
Whilst it is an old style English pub, our room (4) had a King size bed along good sized ensuite with walk-in shower. The wifi worked well and the TV though small had a good coverage of UK TV channels. Breakfast was made to order with our meal of both day were very good. We thought it was the best coffee during our 2 nights stay that we have experienced in 4 weeks in the UK. Parking was outside the entrance or if busy, additional parking is available across the road in a newly bitumen car park. Looking forward for a return stay.
Lovely place with parking just across the hotel. The staff and local people were very friendly and made us welcome. It is the traditional pub with great breakfast and lovely staff. Just a little comment in terms of the room we had, it could do with the shower repaired but but all customer comforts met. Well done.
Stayed for two nights ,for the money you really would be pushed to find anywhere better. The breakfast included in the price is outstanding the staff are helpful and friendly would definitely stay again
Absolutely fabulous! Beds are super comfortable and a delicious breakfast in the mornings. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. I had a 4 year old child with me and they were so inclusive of him.
This is a beautiful, quaint hotel in a small village. Very friendly staff, good dinner in their restaurant, and an excellent breakfast to start the next day. Not the easiest place to find (we are using a paper map, not GPS) but worth the effort.
Staff were lovely and bar area looked okay but the room was very tired with very dirty carpet but the bed was very clean as was the bathroom however there was no shower! There was a shower screen but no actual shower. There was also a very noisy generator as a view from the window. Definitely very overpriced!
Really friendly pub with lovely food and some decent ales on tap. Nice quiet location and great value for money. Very accommodating attitude for storage of my bike overnight (I was invited to bring it in so it could be locked inside overnight). I had to skip breakfast to get somewhere so they made me a packed lunch to take away with me. Totally unexpected but very appreciated. Would definitely stay there again.
This was my second stay and again i could not fault the service or friendliness of the staff. The room was clean and comfortable.
We booked in for mother's day lunch which was beautiful and enjoyed by all.
I am happy to recommend to friends and family
Another night in the 'go to' location for a business trip to this lovely part of the world. Rural, quiet, comfortable, very reasonably priced, good breakfast, relaxed and homely. Conveniently placed for a work visit, in very easy reach of Diss and Eye, the 143 and the 140.
The hotel bar was welcoming and the staff very friendly and helpful. My room was clean and tidy and well appointed. The fish and chips in the restaurant were top notch and the price was exceptionally reasonable. Would definately recommend ;o)
Always a pleasure staying here - made to feel welcome, really handy location for working in this part of the world, and excellent value for money. Great breakfast too.
Lovely location. Great for an overnight stay. The landlord was very welcoming and friendly. Food was lovely and great choice to look through. Would definitely stay there again.
I cannot begin to recommend this lovely place enough! It is tranquil and restful. The staff are so lovely and helpful. But the food, the food is just extraordinary! Even breakfast was delightful. I had the swordfish for dinner one evening and it was just sensational! Flavoursome and firm but moist - absolutely divine!!
My room was so comfortable with everything you need. The bed was really comfortable and I don't sleep well, but I slept a whole 6 hours each night which is a record for me!
I will be back soon. Come and see for yourselves!!
Stayed one night to attend party in nearby village. Friendly staff, excellent owner/Manager. Nice room with large bed. In village pub in picturesque surroundings. Great cooked breakfast.

Warm and welcoming
The hosts were so lovely. Never had an issue and they engaged well with my 3 year old making him welcome too. The breakfast was delicious and very inclusive. Quiet night so had peaceful sleep.
We just came for a weekend, its driving distance to Southwold and Snetterton race circuit. Nice olde worlde pub in a quiet village. Staff lovely, locals friendly and breakfast really nice. I am coeliac and they cater for this well. The room had a kingsize bed that was comfortable and tea making facilities, the bathroom was nice with a good sized shower . Would definitely stay here again.
