“Recommended!”
Location - away from town centre, but tain stop is just outside. 2 lines go to the airport and few to town centre. A taxi ride to centre costs 20-25 eur. Beds are supercomfortable and soft with choise of pillows. Curtains are thick so you wouldnt know whether it's a day or night outside - so the sleep quality is superb. Spa facilities are great - gym, swimming pool, sauna, jakuzzi, steam room. They served hot wine in the lobby for Christmas as compliments of the hotel. Breakfast is good and sufficient. Overall very happy and not quite sure why it's not a 5 star hotel.
“Fantastic hotel in a great location”
This hotel was fantastic, the rooms were great, the staff were helpful and the breakfast fit for a king! For the price we paid, it was great value for money and would definitely stay again!
“Excellent choice”
The Mercure Fontana is an excellent choice for vacation or business traveler. Located across from the transportation hub, downtown Stuttgart is just 15 minutes away by S bahn. The hotel is entirely non-smoking (a rarity in Europe) and the staff were exceedingly helpful, and, of course, fluent in English. The hotel caters to business travelers w a business center that includes free internet service, also a rarity in Germany.
“Going back in December, 2010, been there twice”
Recommending this hotel to friends and family. Tremendous service, immaculate, comfortable accomodations, staff professionalism and fluent in English, great food. Spa is wonderful.
“Very pleased, will use again”
The hotel is in an ideal situation at the end of the station in Vaihingen & has excellent public transport to Stuttgart City & the airport. The S.Bahn service is frequent & also the tram system is very efficient . A 3 day travel ticket for the whole Stuttgart area can be purchased at the hotel for 13.90 Euros ( 12/10) & is really good value. The hotel front desk staff are very friendly & informative. Breakfast is sumptuous & the choice of food on offer is great , with good service. Rooms were really nice & well maintained .
“Bon rapport qualité/prix”
Très bon rapport qualité/prix. Les prestations sont excellentes et la chambre très confortable. La situation est idéale (10mn en S-Bahn) de l'aéroport et du centre ville. Personnel agréable mais pas assez souriant. Toutefois, hôtel à recommander.
“Excellent”
The hotel was in great condition and rooms were 5 star. The staff were really nice and breakfast was excellent too. I will stay here again. The hotel is quite near the airport (4 stops) on train and about 20 mins from main Stuttgart, easy to get to though by train which is literally outside the hotel. The local town is big though and easy to get around. Unbelievable value for money
“Great hotel”
Great hotel with good location. Happens to be near Patch Barracks, so we heard several people speaking English in the adjacent park and streets. There is also a cinema that plays English movies (not on the US base) about three blocks away. Hotel itself is classy. Great breakfast buffet, although a bit pricey.
“Definetely will be using again.”
Hotel was part of our round trip to holiday house in the Montenegro. On our way back we neded to stay over night. As Stuttgard was about 1/3 of jurney back home we needed to stay somewhere close to motorways. As suggestion from Expedia Pulman hotel was the best offer. To our suprise hotel was just as addvertised. Lovely rooms, lesure centre nice breakfast and garage under and just 5 min from motorway. Surely we will stay next time as well.
“Convenient Location”
This hotel is a very nice hotel located about half way between the airport and downtown Stuttgart. It is located across the parking lot from a U-bahn and S-bahn stop so it is extremely easy to get everywhere in the city. Dont' forget to ask at the desk for the 3 day Bahn pass, it's a great deal. The hotel itself is clean, modern and very nice!!
