All you could want from a hotel, BUT it's situated on a very busy and noisy crossroads. Ear plugs definitely needed as there's no soundproofing.

Super convenient for multiple transit stops. Nice rooms, and very kind receptionist. On a corner so it's not a perfectly quiet place, but I will definitely stay here again.

bonjour, nous avons pris note de votre note, due probablement au fait que la personne qui vous a rejoint a du attendre dix minutes, car j'etais occupée à une distribution de repas pour 45 personnes lorsqu'elle est arrivée, se montrant particulièrement impatiente et agressive. Nous travaillons actuellement dans des conditions particulièrement difficiles et faisons notre maximum pour satisfaire nos clients, dans la mesure de nos moyens.

Room was old and noisy. However, hotel in overall is nicely located. Room payment is pretty strange. They lock you money and then charge it once again. And you have to wait you first payment to come back for a month

dear Sir, thanks for your feedback. the payment is not strange : as the majority of hotels, we make a preautorisation on your credit card; the money is bloked by YOUR bank, not by the hotel; After your departure, we cancel this preautorisation, and your bank cancel it too. some banks cancel it quicker than others, but it's not the responsability of the hotel....

Easy Tram Access Great Value
I stayed here sever months ago also before this stay. They are spruced up the rooms. They are very comfortable for 2 people. I would have rated them high on facilities, but the elevator broke the day before we left, which was a Sunday. They were not going to get it fixed until Monday. We were on the 5th floor and since I have bad legs, I could not leave our room, because I could not climb the stairs to get back up. The clerk did come up to our room to carry down our luggage which was great. I still recommend this hotel

The room was ok, couldn't work hot water on shower and when we informed reception the man was very helpful and said it would get looked at. On returning after our day out we asked at reception if it was fixed and this time got to speak to a lady who said we had to do something she thought with the cold water tap. When probing a little more she said if there was a problem we couldn't change rooms as the hotel was full! She was very rude and at no point had we asked to change rooms we just wanted to be able to shower.

Check in was 2pm but they allowed us to check in by 10:30am. Room was spacious but bathroom needs some improvement. Hotel is near tram stop and bus stop. It's convenient especially if you are coming from an overnight trip with luggages. 15 to 20 mins walk to center. But with tram, takes just about 10 mins.

Overall was good but only one thing was the lift out of service. It is the problem for traveler with big luggage difficult to carry to 4/5 floor. So, the hotel should fix the lift asap. Thanks

Great Value
My husband and I needed a simple room in Strassborg after the Wine Fest. Hotel Esplanade was fantastic...right across the street from the tram and very easy to find. Older reviews of the hotel were poor, but the most recent ones were positive so I gave it a try. Our room was quiet and had a view of the cathedral in the distance. There were also nice touches like a hot water kettle, tea, biscuits and coffee as well as cups, glasses, and shampoo. For a 2 star hotel, this exceeded our expectations. In addition, the bathroom was very clean and you could tell it had been remodeled. The staff were friendly and he made sure we had individual logons since we had two devices that needed wifi.

Much as expected, having stayed here before. Like location - very pleasant 15 minutes walk into town; and frequent trams to town, 3 lines including one from hotel door to railway station.

Quick efficient check in, breakfast adequate. Reasonable rate for room compared to other hotels in city. Close to tram stop And easy tO find. Enjoyed boat trip. Felt very safe of at night.

Excellent location though quite noisy.very hot in room at night although it was mid July so understandable. Hotel manager very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return as this was everything we wanted at an excellent price

Unsophisticated and easygoing
Unsophisticated but agreable hotel, extremely helpful and kind personal. Easy to reach from the railway station, just a few minutes by tram. They offer quite good and affordable rental bikes. Nearby the lovely Orangerie park. No complaints at all!

Basic needs were met.
Too expensive for quality of hotel. Not impressed by staff or overall cleanliness. Breakfast was affordable but it was basically just cereal and coffee. Beds and towels were clean but room was still pretty shabby. Stay here if you don't plan on spending much time in room.

thanks for your comment ; when you enter in the breakfast room, you find coffee (milk and water for tea), cereals, and just after : bread, croissants, butter, jam, honey, nutella, eggs, ham, cheese, yoghourts and fruit salade.

Good location - not as good value as previously
I've stayed at Esplanade several times over the past few years - good location, right beside tram stop and with a great bakery opposite and excellent restaurants nearby. Previously I'd always felt it to be good value - but this time I felt that for the price I paid, I would have expected the facilities to be in good order: in fact, the bathroom sink had a massive crack in it (not exactly hygienic).
