Great hotel for the truck show

Posted 16-Sep-2014
Pros: Very clean, breakfast is decent.
Cons: Our mattress was very hard and uncomfortable (prefer softer mattress.) My parents stayed at the same hotel and said their mattress was comfortable.
We enjoy going to St Ignace during the truck show in September. The parade of lights goes past the hotel, perfect viewing.

Reasonable hotel with nice view

Posted 10-Sep-2014
Pros: the location to get on to the Mackinac Bridge or go to the Casino was great.
Location: The hotel has a small beach area. Mackinac Island is a short ferry ride away. A Kewadin Casino is a few miles to the north. Mackinac Bridge is close
We stayed here for one night. The room was large, 2 queen beds, and the sink was separate from the toilet/shower so two people could be doing different things to get ready at the same time. There was a good warning printed out about the bugs and the birds. Anyone traveling in the UP should know that bugs are generally a nuisance everywhere. We arrived when it was already dark so it was very late. We could see the light from the lighthouse on Mackinac Island. In the morning we did have a nice view of Mackinac Island though it was overcast and raining. The breakfast spread was pretty good, some hot meats and sausages, toast and toaster waffles, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, coffees and tea. Overall, I would go back to them again.

Musty smell was was stuck out the most

The check in employee was very nice. However, the condition and cleanliness of the facility was definitely lacking. If it wasn't so late, I would have left, and paid the cancellation fee.

Right on Lake Huron.

Posted 22-Aug-2014
Very clean hotel, right on Lake Huron. Rooms are a a bit dated but you can't beat the price. A 5 min Drive from downtown St. Ignace and the Mackinaw Island ferries.

Great Hotel in a Great location!

Posted 18-Aug-2014
Pros: The convenience and views!
Cons: The padding on the bed.
Location: It was very close to downtown and just a walk away from the lake.,
We stayed one night in this hotel and it was a great experience! Our room had a walk out patio that lead to the lawn which was full of games and a large play structure which was a great thing to see. Also, since it was right on the lake, the view was beautiful and you can sit out on a provided swing, provided patio chairs or even some pool chairs. It also was a great place to see the Saturday night fireworks in the downtown area. As far as the room, it was very spacious and perfect for what we were paying. The beds are not the most comfortable thing but just enough comfort to have a restful night!. I highly recommend coming here!.

Very Nice.

Posted 17-Aug-2014
Located right on the shoreline, this was a very pleasant and comfortable hotel. The rooms were nice, and there was plenty of hot water for the showers/baths. The breakfast was tasty. The views were spectacular. We would highly recommend this hotel, especially for the very affordable price. We plan on returning when we visit again.

Pretty Outside. Decor of Rooms Disappointing

Posted 15-Aug-2014
Pros: The view.
Cons: The decor and neatness of the rooms. They seemed somewhat shabby. There was sand in the stairwell and a towel was left on the banister for two days.
Location: The location was great. A convenient kiosk in the parking lot sold tickets to the Star Line ferry to Mackinac Island.
The view was great. The beach was not swimmable - OK for adults, not so much for kids. The room was definitely a contrast with the exterior - no hint of ambiance there! The pool was nice, although a LONG walk from the room. It's open till midnight and that's a good thing when you have kids to tire out so they'll fall asleep quickly. The breakfast included in the room price, was not gluten-free. All I could eat were the sausages and the bananas.
