“What a location !”
We had such a lovely time at this hotel I almost don't want to let everyone know as otherwise it might be all booked up the next time we want to go. The location is the first big plus - a real oasis in the city surrounded by water yet a 10-15 walk (along the quay side) to the city. Secondly the rooms have been well decorated in classic cool minimalist Swedish style...ours was quite compact but we didn't spend too much time in it so not too bothered. The bathroom would be our only criticism .. the wet room shower meant water went everywhere and there were no clothes hooks hand the bathrobes or anything. The stone sink looked fantastic but wasn't very practical when it come to my husband shaving. ( We also had a problem with the tap coming off the wall but thats a whole other story!) The next top thing was the breakfast - this and one other hotel were the only ones I could find in the center where breakfast was included in the room price ! And boy what a breakfast it was! Fabulous....loads of wonderful fresh Swedish sourdough bread, meats, cheese, muesli coffee! The staff were lovely and all in all we felt like we were in another world for the three days. The final top thing - the free bikes which we used every day and rode all round Stockholm! Bliss...

“Cutes Hotel in Stockholm”
This wonderful new hotel is located in the former military barracks dating back to the 17th, on a small quiet picturesque island. It is a short pleasant walk from the tourist center of Stockholm. Rooms are clean and bright, free breakfast is delicious, service is attentive. The hotel's design is Scandinavian, that is, extremely simple and unpretentious, although thoughtful. Staying here, you feel as if you were in the countryside, near the waterfront and forest. And indeed you are, but at the same time you can walk to the downtown in five minutes. Highly recommended.
“Wonderful new hotel”
We had a lovely time at hotel Skeppsholmen. Very friendly and helpful service from reception, good breakfast buffet, and a truly special meal in their restaurant. Just a 10 minute walk into the centre of town, and a very pleasant walk with wonderful views of the water. We booked a large water view room, and were on the top floor in an attic style room. The room was huge, with wonderful design touches. The standard rooms on the ground floor looked quite small, so were glad we spent a little more for a great experience. We're thinking of going back sometime in summer, when the hotel will have bikes available for guests.

“Fantastic hotel”
This was a gorgeous hotel in a really good spot in the city. The building has been fantastically converted into trendy and comfortable accommodation. Very stylish, warm (it was very cold and snowy when we stayed there), the staff were all very welcoming and helpful, and the food both at breakfast and dinner was outstanding. The location on the small island of Skeppsholmen was beautiful and although close to the city centre it was quiet and tranquil. When we first walked onto the island after a difficult journey, it was like Disneyland with the snow and beautiful buildings. We would love to return in the summer to see how different everything is and we would definitely stay at this hotel again.
“Lovely hotel in picturesque surroundings”
Hotel Skeppsholmen is a former naval barracks that has been converted into a comfortable, modern hotel. Featuring some of the best aspects of Scandinavian design, the rooms are light and spacious. The staff create a relaxed and informal ambience and we felt very much at home during our short stay. The location is superb. The hotel is situated on a quiet and picturesque island and yet it is a convenient base for sightseeing. As we were enjoying the beautiful scenery and tranquility, it was sometimes hard to imagine that we were close to the City Centre. An added bonus was the adjacent ferry stop with regular services to both Djurgarden and Slussen. All in all, it was a memorable and enjoyable visit.
