Great location for a few days in Stockholm

Posted 26-Aug-2014
Cons: Room was a little stuffy and airless until we got the staff to open the window which was locked - however it was fine after that.
Met our expectations having read a number of positive reports about it.

Wife's birthday celebration

Posted 24-Aug-2014
Pros: Good value. Great breakfasts. Excellent restaurant and bar. Stylish room. Really clean. Great staff. Good (non central) location. Really enjoyed it.
Cons: Thought I chose the most expensive option when booking on expedia so thought it was a top floor suite. Maybe I got it wrong or expedia weren't clear?
Location: Nice quiet location with trees in the front and back. Best hotel for bohemian part of town? Near to ferry terminals, Gamla Stan and tube system.
Four day stay in Stockholm to celebrate wife's birthday. Excellent. Not central but ideal boutique hotel in funky part of Stockholm. Personable, smart, stylish, friendly hotel.

unRivaled

Pros: staff and location. The ABBA connection was also fun...especially for my travelling companion who is a big fan.
Cons: Room was a bit warm but we were there during an unusual heat wave and the staff did provide a fan at no extra charge.
Most of all the helpfulness of staff stood out...except perhaps for a few rather distant bartenders in the bar. The restaurant was great (for breakfast) and the front desk staff went way out of their way to help arrange a few odd travel plans. Great location...close tot he Metro and walkable to downtown, but a quieter picturesque neighbourhood.

Great hotel great staff great location

Posted 16-Aug-2014
An excellently run hotel with a first class breakfast, great position and good value for money. We would definitely go back there. We arrived early and the reception staff checked to see if our room was ready. It wasn't but would be soon so we were offered a cup of tea or coffee while we waited. And all done with a genuine smile.

Close to everything

Pros: Perfect location.. it had a restaurant, cafe, ice cream shop right there. This was convenient as well. It also had complimentary fresh brewed coffee
Location: it was near everything....
This hotel was everything we hoped it would be. It was true to the reviews that I read on line before I booked. The location was excellent, the room was generously sized, the beds were amazingly comfortable... I have nothing bad to say.

lovely, well-located hotel

This hotel overlooks Mariatorget, a lovely park, is only 2 blocks from the subway, and is about a 15-minute walk to Gamla Stan. The neighborhood has several good restaurants and other shops and allows easy access to the many attractions of Stockholm the hotel itself was stylish and comfortable, and the staff extremely helpful on all manner of questions. We stayed in a Deluxe room, which had a beautiful view over the park. The room itself was large with a modern bathroom, ample closet space, multiple electrical outlets and many other conveniences.

Hotel Rival in Stockholm

Posted 12-Aug-2014
Pros: Location, very helpful concierge, breakfast
Cons: Our room (220) was a little on the small side - not much room to get past the end of the bed
Location: Located a short walking distance from Gamla Stan and main attractions but benefited from quiet, leafy location as a result
Good location overlooking leafy square, quiet position yet walking distance to main attractions, and commuter trains to Arlanda airport. Staff friendly and helpful. Really appreciated the concierge's pre arrival tips and advice as well as link to his Stockholm blog. Room comfortable, modern and functional with plenty of electric sockets, iron and board, robes and good shower and toiletries, albeit our room seemed to be quite tight and smaller than most but we only really used it for sleeping and showering so not an issue for us. Availability of tea and coffee a welcome treat. Breakfast buffet was great - good selection, well cooked and presented, and able to have breakfast on the balcony overlooking the square. Loved the breakfast shots! Would recommend.

wonderful!

Pros: location. room. staff. breakfast.
Cons: if global warming continues, they need AC in every room. :)
Location: the area is fantastic! in a little park, with cute streets, cafe's, little stores etc. close to the Metro, busses, walk to Old Town and many other loc
the hotel is located in a great location. the staff is helpful and welcoming, always there to help. the room was very comfortable and pleasant. the only problem was that due to the unusual heat this week, the room was warm, since not all rooms have AC. they are not used to hot summers in Sweden. the breakfast was delicious, and satisfying for adults and kids alike. the area is fantastic! in a little park, with cute streets, cafe's, little stores etc. close to the Metro, busses, walk to Old Town and many other locations, yet away from the over crowded tourists locations.

Nice stay

Beautiful hotel. Matteus went out of his way to help with restaurants and gave us a great way to use the commuter train to get to the airport (SEK 75 versus 520 for a taxi). The station is just up the street. Our only complaint was no A/C which normally isn't needed but it's a heat wave this summer! Great location close to Old Town and museums (don't miss the Vasa).

Lovely hotel

Posted 30-Jul-2014
Cons: Air conditioning!
Wonderful experience. Favorite things: LOCATION!!! Located in the hip Sodermalm neighborhood. Nestled beside lovely Mariatorget Square....the sound of the fountain...priceless. Super close to chic shops, cafés and restaurants. Wonderful coffee upstairs on the fourth floor. Free breakfast in the morning out on the balcony overlooking the square. Not your ordinary hotel breakfast. This was a lush spread of delicious and fresh food of all kinds. Can I have the recipe for the Swedish pancakes smothered in lingonberry jam??!
