“Completely satisfactory hotel in good location”
It's not the Ritz, but it's completely satisfactory in all respects. Friendly, helpful staff; generous breakfast hours; good breakfast (included in room rate). Close to T-Bana (subway) and good bus routes; just minutes from everywhere in downtown Stockholm. We'd stay there again!
“Charming hotel with great location”
Hotel is historic and good condition (built in 1897) has a lot of charm, especially the cage elevator in the lobby that works better than some modern day one's I've been in, or the old fashion winding carpeted wooden staircases. Rooms are not as large as some; but big enough for 3 adults to stay together with efficient use of all spaces. Very clean. 4 individual twin beds to our room with a desk including internet access & small refrigerator was a plus. Desk staff are old fashion customer first type of service and helpful at all times with locating tours, interpreting language, general history or information. A great city center location to walk anywhere or the metro subway and/or buses stop within steps of the hotel. Breakfast buffet was consistant and good each morning. Very enjoyable stay, good area of town where you feel safe walking anytime of day. I travel frequently and you should know that the room didn't have air conditioning but since the temperatures fluctuate so much, the windows open served us well as I would imagine the radiator heat would help during cold months. Definitely worth staying.
“Our Second Visit”
Though pricey (as is all of Stockholm), the Gustav Vasa is an engaging pension, close via the T-bana to the rest of the city. The rooms are a little cramped, but they are clean. Included breakfast is generous and varied. The manager bent over backwards to assist us through a travel difficulty. We are glad we went back.

“Small but clean and well situated”
Well located hotel, close to train stain. We stayed in the triple room with private bathroom. Very clean however small. Stayed only for one night so it was fine.
“Rennovations”
A large visible rennovation is underway and the ratings will likely not improve until this is complete. The basement room we had was large and very newly renovated and suitable for a family with a small child, despite some internal steps. The buffet breakfast was very good and the staff at the desk were helpful. The hotel is excellently located, being in walking distance to the centre.
“Its a nice hotel but......”
The location is very good, short walk to metro, 20 minute walk to centre. Good surrounding restaurants. The hotel was being refurbished when we visited, it wasn't tidy and there was a lot of stuff lying about in the corridors. We seemed to have a large bag of linen outside our room every day. The breakfast is very good. Internet connection comes at a hefty price. If you get a small room you will get a very small room. When we saw our room we asked for another but the only alternative was a smaller one. Don't expect any cupboard space either. The television was a bit smashed up and there was a kettle in the room but no tea or coffee. You will need to steal mugs and sachets from the breakfast room. Most of all beware the school trips. This hotel accepts teenage schoolchildren on organised trips it seems. You might be lucky and not meet any but we did, they were noisy, shouting, wrestling and door banging and would keep the soundest sleeper awake. The walls are partitions, breaking bigger rooms into numerous smaller rooms and so noisy neighbours can be a problem. The hotel staff were pleasant but didn't even bother to ask us if we were happy with our stay.
“John H. Suwardie”
The facility is very minimal. The space is too small. If you looks for the basics , it is OK. But the location is close to metro and various restaurant. If you stay only for sleeping and taking showers, it should be sufficient. It is too pricey for those minimum facility
