“Historic Location in Stockholm”

This hotel is steeped in character. The rooms are fitted out in a "cabin" style, and offer a very adequate level of comfort and facilities, although they are showing some wear. The cafe-bar is an exquisite example of turn-of-the-century decor, beautifully preserved. The hotel is worth a visit just to see that. The staff are very attentive and competent which gives the hotel the overall high rating that it deserves.

“Berns Night in Stockholm!”

Following a recommendation, we decided on a special weekend to Stockholm as a 50th birthday treat for my partner. The Berns Hotel is right at the city centre and everything is in walking distance: museums, boats, tram, buses, shops, you name it. The food in the restaurant is top quality and very different - try the liquorice ice cream! The rooms are quirky, cabin-style, but really comfortable and well-equipped. The biggest problem with the stay was the noise coming from the night club. We hadn't expected this, so asked to be moved at midnight when it became unbearable. So, we were given a room temporarily on the 5th floor for one night and then found a third room to move to for the rest of our stay. All of this was done without a quibble from the staff, who dealt with us in an exemplary manner, but it did rather ruin the stay. It was not our first time in Sweden, and we will go back again and again...but will possibly stay somewhere quieter next time!

“Great location, tiny room”

Postitives: The hotel service was excellent - friendly staff gave us a room with a balcony and had it ready for a very early check in. The location is also great, but Stockholm isn't a difficult city to get around. Negatives: The standard rooms are as tiny as other reviews have suggested and have more of a business than a boutique feel. The room was clean but needs updating (old shower curtain and slightly weird smell in the bathroom, CD player rather than an iPod docking station). Not bad, but could probably get better value for money and more breathing space elsewhere.
