“Nordic Motel”
Loved the home town feeling and individual attention of Isabella and her husband. If we had a questionthey were there to answer it. They tried to make the experience a true vacation. Great location and awesome people. When we return to Steamboat, we will go back to the Nodic. Next time will bring a swim suit for the hot tub.
“Great cheap Steamboat stay”
Very friendly staff, above average breakfast and clean cheap no thrills stay. Great location if you plan to go ski during the day, as it overlooks a free bus service stop and great for some fun and good food in the evenings as it is walking distance from most restaurants and bars in downtown Steamboat
“Hometown Hospitality Goes the Extra Mile”
This place was great - could not have asked for better service. The rooms were clean and comfy, with microfridges and cable. We had brought wine, so my husband went to the front desk for a corkscrew - not only did they cork our wine, they gave us real wine glasses so we didn't have to drink from plastic cups. One of the mornings we awoke to fresh snow on our car, which was already scraped from the windshield. Even the continental breakfast of the usuals (bagels, donuts, etc) was better than most - went until 10:30 and was constantly replenished. The location was extremely convenient - we walked around downtown and the bus stop to the slopes was right across the street. I would definitely stay here again!!!!
“Very friendly staff”
We stopped at the Nordic Lodge for a motorcyle trip. The staff was extremely friendly, and even gave us rags to clean our gear because we got rained on. The location is ideal and within walking distance of downtown. The room was a bit small, but very comfy with nice furniture. We were three and had the 2 queens and a futon. The room was very clean. The breakfast was plentiful with donuts, muffins, breads and rolls, waffles, etc. Overall, great bang for the buck!
“Great little place walking distance to downtown Steamboat”
I good hotel for the price. Family owned, staff very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to shops and restaurants and a short drive to great hiking trails. Would stay here again and recommend to others.
“Very good experience”
I stayed for 4 nights in march. the room was very clean and had a small bathroom, tv, blow dryer and iron. the free breakfast was great, and the staff was very helpful and caring. very good for skiing, bus picks up for free right out front and its only a 10 minute ride straight to the gondola. you can bring skis or snowboards on the bus, saving money for storage. the hot tub room is nice and peaceful. overall , great experience!
“I'll be back !”
The wonderful owner covers any Cons. He is the Greatest person I've ever met in the industry. Don't worry about the location away from the hill. Free bus service is available even in late night. Fine/casual restaurants are in walking distance.
“Convenient Location”
Excellent location right on main shopping street within a few minutes walk of a choice of good restaurants and most of towns facilities. Staff helpful, rooms clean, and comfortable, laundry good, but surprised to find NO coffe making facilities in the room! Went down to reception early evening to get one and found their coffee pot cold, probabley been off since breakfast. Breakfast not very good, except fresh cakes, but edible, nothing warm except the breakfast coffee. Would stay again for the position and price, but would rather stay in a similar hotel that had coffee making in the room.
“Nordic Lodge, Steamboat Springs”
Nordic Lodge is well located in downtown Steamboat. The rooms are small but nicely updated. Plentiful power outlets, fridge, microwave. Tiny bathroom but with a real bath, not just a shower. There is an excellent hot tub and a well maintained outdoor pool. The included breakfast is above average, with good coffee, muffins, donuts, bagels, cereal, and fruit. Parking is not expansive, but you wouldn't expect or even want that in a downtown location. Balky WiFi (the signal kept dropping) was a slight drawback, but at least it was free. I struggled with the room entrance key, which didn't seem particularly secure. However, there is a supplementary deadbolt for when you are actually inside the room.
