“Great for trips to Mary Baldwin College”

This hotel was exactly what we wanted it to be: clean, safe, and classy. The location makes it great for visits at nearby Mary Baldwin College. The historic nature of the hotel made us feel like we had really taken a trip!

“Wonderful Historical Hotel”

Seeing the Lobby is worth the visit. Our room was beautiful. A clean bathroom is very important to me, I've stayed at enough over the years that were marginal, our bathroom at the Stonewall Jackson was spotless. The check-in counter staff could have been a little friendlier. All in all I've recommended a stay at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel to my family. We have a niece w/new baby that lives in Staunton and I'm sure there will be plenty of visits from her Chicago family.

“Excellent as Always”

As always, the hotel was sparkling clean. The staff is first class. The location is excellent as it is close to everything. The local shops are always a delight to shop. The parking garage is also a plus as it ties into the hotel and is safe and well lighted. I recommend this hotel to all, as it really is convenient to many neighboring communities in the Shenandoah Valley. The only negative and this is minor, the pillows were not comfortable. There were enough to allow for 2 per person, but were too big to utilize both.

“A great hotel right in the centre of Stauntons historic town centre”

The Stonewall Jackson is a great historic hotel set right in the middle of Staunton. It's clean comfortable and the staff are extremely helpful. I'd read previous reviews which said the rooms were quite small but we found it more than adequate. The bar on the ground floor is a good little bar and the meals looked good - although other than the cheesecake we never ate there. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful location. Staunton is a great little town with lots of places to eat. The pick of the bunch are the Pampered Pallate for great breakfasts and amazing take out sandwiches for lunch. For evening meals the White Mills grill on Mill Street is excellent
