Nice hotel

Posted 19-Oct-2014
Pros: It was a beautiful hotel and a wonderful dinner!
Cons: Nothing could be improved.
Thanks to Expedia we were able to have a comfortable nights stay at the Windward Passage Hotel.

Nice if you can get a room with a view

Posted 17-Oct-2014
Pros: The harbour view
Cons: Service
Location: Lovely Spanish restaurant nearby called Amalia Cafe. Lovely food, atmosphere and great service.
The lady at the desk put us in a room with a view of the alleyway and construction going on directly above our suite. When I politely complained about the noise, she simply replied, "they will be done at 5, which is only another hour." Of course, in order to get a better view, it would cost us another 25 dollars before tax. I was more than willing to pay that on our first night (before chartering a boat elsewhere.) Unfortunately, she stuck us next to the suite with the construction going on! Luckily, it was nearing early dinner time and we left our room. The view of the harbour was lovely and by the time we got back, the construction noises were over. The good thing is, we only had to spend one night there!

last minute stay

Posted 16-Oct-2014
Staff was great, room was a little worn but clean and an attempt at upgrades. Only problem was a bar with loud music. Ask to be in a room away from the bar. Despite this we got a good nights sleep and they had taxi on hand to take us to the airport the next morning.

Cons: Helpfulness of staff, Fitness equipment broken
Staff was difficult to deal with and not very helpful. (Towels etc.) Frustrating at times. Stayed here before and they were fine. Not so this time

Old and very tired

Posted 13-Oct-2014
Pros: location
Cons: everything
Location: Good locale close to the duty free shopping of St Thomas
good spot close to ferry but the Windward Passage looks like it has been around since Sir Francis Drake sailed those Caribbean Waters....Time for a renovation please. Aircon did not really work, water pressure was hopeless, bath did not drain as quickly as it filled up!

Need of serious repair and updating

Posted 25-Sep-2014
Pros: Harbor view and close to airport and transport to other islands
Cons: Tile cleaned and or replaced in bathroom; cleanliness of bathroom facilities including tub
Location: I was on business and not on holiday
Worst food ever; bathroom mold on walls; flying insects inside room; glass sliders would not close tightly; view of harbor spectacular...would not recommend, price paid was 40.00 higher than desk clerk quoted random callers.

Pros: Proximity to the seaplane
Cons: Service and room qulaity
The place was tired and tacky. The bathroom needed a major over haul. Grouting in bathroom was discoloured. For some reason my room was not serviced so after returning from a hot and sweaty day's work I found my room was less than presentable having assumed the room would have been made up.

Surprisingly okay

Pros: Value - in St. Thomas you'll find it hard to beat the quality/price.
Cons: Broader breakfast selection - yogurt, cereals should be available.
Location: Across the main street from the main harbor. Pay extra for the harbor view, otherwise no useful view. Very good Green House restaurant nearby.
Tropical storm Bertha caused a lot of folks to find a last minute play to stay. We all had left week or so of beaches and beautiful water and were worried about an 'airport hotel' experience. Well, we didn't get the beach, but I paid the extra cost for the view of the harbor - which isn't bad. Whole family said they were relieved - the room was big enough, clean, comfortable beds (doubles so we got closer than we usually do, but hey..). Staff tried to assist in all of our requests. Breakfast wasn't too expensive (2 eggs, bacon, toast for ~$11). Gift shop wasn't open on a Monday, so that was strange, but we were given water bottles. They really try to make this hotel special and in general, they succeeded in getting a very serviceable hotel for a brief and economical stay.

Close to airport, but old hotel

Posted 5-Aug-2014
Staff wasn't very helpful. Some were texting in between checking guests in. Only hotel available post tropical storm and couldn't make it to St. John. It did it's job fine, but felt gross after staying there. Definitely in need of a renovation.

hotel under some sort of perpetual state of construction.
