“Stephenz”

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location is fantastic, just walking distance to all the major sights of Peterburg and Nevsky Prospect, and just around the corner from Sennaya Ploshad and Sadovaya metro station. The staff were friendly and helpful and did their best to answer all my questions and queries (spacibo bolshoe). My room was clean and tidy, and had a small but, clean modern bathroom. Breakfast was wasn't Cordon Bleu, but it was a good choice of cereal, fruit, yogurt, porridge, omlette, sausage and eggs etc, and strong coffee! If there were any improvements, I'd reccommend this hotel get air conditioning for the summer months. I also thought they would benefit from having a fridge/mini bar in the rooms; this would allow guests to keep food and drinks cool and the hotel might profit from the mini-bar sales. Otherwise Great! (Ochen horosho!)

“Perfect Location and Friendly Service”

We were very impressed with Comfitel Demidov Bridge - the location could hardly be better, situated right on the canal and within 2 minutes walk of Sannaya Square metro station, plus only a 10 - 15 minute walk to Nevskiiy Prospekt. It was far enough away from the bars and clubs to be quiet but you're still right in the centre of the city. The staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English (helpful due to our limited Russian skills!). Breakfast was basic but nice and served until the very-sociable time of 10:30am (11am on weekends) and our room was comfortable and clean. We bought a flight/hotel package through Expedia which was excellent value. We would highly recommend this hotel as a great value 3* service.

“nice rooms, horrible hotel entrance”

Location, room and staff nice. Only problems are that the reception is on the 4th floor of an old building with a horrible looking entrance and an elevator that stops only halfway between floors: you have to drag luggage on the stairways. The rooms are completely different: modern and clean.

The reception staff was very friendly and helpful, the room and the bath needs a good clean and some maintenance.

“Basic hotel”

Finding the hotel is dfficult unlessyou speak Russian or arrive by taxi. The picture shown is of the cafe on the corner of the block, the hotel itself is the next entrance down the right hand side next to the canal. The hotel entrance is a big green metal door operated by a keypad/ buzzer system. The entrance to the hotel is on the 4th floor having walked up over 60 steps which look more like a 60s council block than a hotel (take the coffin lift if you dare!) Our room was basic but clean. It had been newly refurbished. We stayed 4 nights, sheets and towels were changed once. Beware of the flying insects - they bite (we stayed in early August). Service was adequate but not exactly friendly, the receptonist spoke basic English. The location is reasonable, it is cose to St Issacs but also close to what one guide described as the rough side of town. The nearby square and subway stations appeared to be a local hang out for alot of men with little else to do.

Good value for what you pay. Close to all the city centre attractions. Hard to find as the sign is small and don't have the comfitel name.

“Shocking!!”

When the first thing you see is a grafetti covered metal door which when opened leads to an overwhelming smell of stale urine and concrete stairs it doesn't bode well!! The room was grubby, the bed dirty, the pillows lumpy and we were bitten by something overnight - checked out the next day. Location however was great so if you are not expecting 3 star accommodation and are happy to stay in slightly above hostel standard and can get past the smell in the stairway it is 5-10minutes walk from all the main attractions - that said the metro is dirt cheap and easy to navigate..........

“Très bruyant, placé au dessus café-musique!”

Hôtel situé au dessus d'un café-musique ouvert 24/24, avec des hauts parleurs à l'extérieur qui donnent directement sur les fenêtres des chambres! Simple vitrage dans la chambre et rue très passante. Ensemble très bruyant... Beaucoup trop bruyant! En plus de cela, les clients, russes lors de notre séjour, ont été incorrects et n'ont aucunement respecté le silence. Discussions à toute heure de la nuit devant les chambres, portes claquées sans cesse et va et vient incessants... Pour finir, les chambres ne sont pas non plus isolées! Quant au petit déjeuner il est peu copieux, mais correct quand même.
