"Great for relaxing."
Just returned from yet another wonderful holiday at The Sugar Cane Club. So relaxing and comfortable. The staff members, managers, reception, waiting staff, chauffeur, bar staff, gardeners, room attendants and chefs etc, are all so welcoming, perpetually smiling, helpful and efficient. We enjoyed life in a beautiful garden - at times being entertained by the Green Monkeys in the mornings, as well as gentle music on many evenings. Barbecues by the pool by torch and lamplight. If it rains, the rain is warm! Food even better this year, with a good selection of wine .. and the rum punch is just as good as before!

"Excellent beachside position"
We usually stay in 5* hotels... Mostly Marriott or Hilton chain so I was a little dubious about staying here especially after reading the many negative reviews... I might add that I have never before written a review but really we had a lovely stay here, the positioning is lovely, directly on the beach. The 3 restaurants all had sea/beach views... Off the resort you are likely to pay upwards of £70 each for 2 course evening meal in a beachside restaurant in Barbados not including drinks. When we arrived the first impression was that it was a little tired but after a couple of days we didn't really notice that any more... In fact it adds to its charm. Breakfast and lunch are mostly buffet style with evening meals being served.... You do need to book your chosen restaurant for evening meals which was no problem as we just booked at breakfast or lunch. We paid extra and stayed in a superior sea view room but to be honest I think wherever you stay on this resort it would be fine as there are a few pools. The stay included some activities for free and are well worth doing, boat trips with opportunity to swim with turtles... All snorkelling equipment provided... Island safari tour... Island sightseeing tour etc... But book early. Non motorised watersports are also included...snorkelling, Kayaking, Cattamaran sail boat, Body boarding with all equipment. There is also a pitch and putt course, a crazy golf, tennis courts, gym, etc. it's great here

"Quiet Luxury,but rather lonely."
A beautiful place if one goes with a family or friends. One should hire a car though.Very quiet, but staff are extremely obliging & most kind. Not a place for a sole traveller, but I imagine in a party of people,it would be a dream world.Thank you for all your help.

Fantastic setting next to the beach, superb helpful staff always trying to help. Don't ever forget the afternoon tea, we always rushed back to this! The sandwiches and cakes were to die for! The gardens are awesome, just truly tropical with the occasional hint of mongoose, hummingbird and monkey!

"Very nice, secluded hotel close to beach"
Whilst this hotel is about an hours drive from the airport, Bridgetown and the tourist nightlife, it more than makes up for it with it's quiet, peaceful location and the friendliness and quality of it's staff. If you want to visit different locations around the island you will need to hire a car (for an adventure, try the bus services - quite an experience - but try to avoid school in & out times unless you want to experience being a sardine). Navigating in Barbados is not the easiest thing in the world. Graham, Trevor and the rest of the staff are very friendly, helpful and courteous and the hotel, grounds and suites are clean and well maintained. We stayed in a 2 bedroomed suite which had all the facilities necessary to holiday as we pleased. There is an excellent restaurant - The Fish Pot - located across the road and directly on the beach, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner - try the Fish of the Day. You may well see monkeys and hummingbirds when swimming or sunbathing by the main pool and there is a second smaller pool if the main one is too busy for your liking. The beach is small but beautifully formed with sun loungers available as well as water sports and water taxi services. All in all we had a wonderful holiday at a great hotel.

"Luxury Apartments Barbados - St Peters Bay "
Great holiday with the family , lazing around the pool ,swimming in the nice warm sea - complementary boat trips during the day to swim with the turtles . Really good complementary wifi in the rooms and on the private beach. The Resort Manager "Jeff" was really nice , as was his concierge Charlene and the Gazebo bar manager Gilbert and Franz ( he's great fun guy , full of positive energy ) . When we'd had enough of relaxing either Franz or Rico ( another great guy) took us to nearby restaurants and to pick up food supplies . The Yacht Club at Port St Charles was well worth the visit, as was the Lone Star restaurant which we regularly visited as it was up market for us adults , whilst also had a great kids menu for our young children. What was also good was the readily available use of jet skis from Sebastian at $75 US per half hour ( great fun and half hour chunks worked out just fine when in need of an adrenalin boost ). Complementary use of the resorts paddle boards was great fun also ( the kids had great balance - unfortunately my balance not so good , so I stuck to using the resorts canoe and kayak which I found much easier ) . There was also a platform out at sea that we would swim out to daily and then rest whist laying on the floating platform - "most relaxing". The best thing of all was meeting Will Smith ( yes , " Will Smith " ) at the St Peters Bay resort , meeting him was just so great as my family and I are huge fans of him :-)

"Great villa close to Mullins beach"
We stayed at Battaleys Mews for a week and were very happy with the overall experience. I recommend hiring a car as it's the easiest mode of transport to getting around. It's a 5 min walk to the beach and on our way we were greeted by lovely locals. There is a 24hr gas station at the end of the road which is very handy. Our tv wasn't working for the first 2 days but the helpful staff got to the bottom of it and was fixed in due course. Highly recommend.

    St. Peter Hotels Guide

The crowds thin further up the west coast in St. Peter parish. Locals and tourists alike enjoy Mullins Beach, also a favored place to watch the sunset. The island’s northernmost spot, the Animal Flower Cave, is a short drive from St. Peter. The cave is filled with flower-shaped sea anemones. Also nearby is the Barbados Wildlife Refuge. Its mahogany forest is home to the island’s green monkeys.
