The hotel has been nicely updated however be warned the rooms are small and the bathrooms are tiny. If you are bigger than normal you may struggle with the shower and loo.apart from that the staff are excellent and it is in a beautiful position. By far the best hotel in the area.
We enjoyed the Tradewinds. It was nothing ultra fancy. The beach and beach accommodations were good. The bedding was comfortable, although the size of the room was pretty small for a family of 4. With our luggage, there was no where to move. They could use larger pools. Restaurants were average. Would stay there again, but might explore other options first.
Room was clean, hotel was great and beach was amazing. The housekeepers sometimes were low on towels but staff was great to send them to room quickly. Food was great , atmosphere was great. Loved our vacation. Will stay here again . And we are very choosy!
Loved the access to the beach. The rooms were clean but aged (ie; faucet in bathtub wouldn't fully shut off, shower pressure was fair).
Staff was friendly. When we checked in (after 4pm) our rooms weren't ready and it took us asking several times for them to give us an answer. It looked like there were many people that were waiting for their rooms as well but we were pleased that within 10 minutes it was ready. Which was about 25 minutes past check in. Not sure if this is typically for them but you could tell the people waiting in the lobby were not happy.
The pool was very small given the size of the complex. The water was warm Not cool at all.
Overall a fair place to stay, reminds me of a dated Days Inn.
We had a great stay at the Beachcomber. It's a little outdated but our room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful about recommending local places to eat. The beach bar was fun. It was nice being so close to the beach. Overall we had a great time!
It is a great hotel from where it is. Perfect spot on beach. Pools are nice and clean. Nice and refreshing even later in the day. Bars amd food good. Rooms are the rooms. It's not a Hilton but when you book a hotel on the strip I would hope you would not expect a Hilton. Close to the Trop if you coming for baseball games. Overall for the value it is a perfect hotel for your time in st Pete .
Older hotel fixed up nicely. They did a great job with the theme of the hotel. Outside looks old but inside they did a good job and the court yard and pool area was very cute. Close to nice beach. Bar right on the water. Breakfast in their restaurant was very good too. I would return.
St. Pete Beach stands out as a pioneering resort town on Florida's Gulf coast. Situated on the southwest corner of the Pinellas peninsula, St. Pete Beach is 10 miles from downtown St. Petersburg. Charming small shops and restaurants can be found along Corey Avenue's historic shopping district, and just south are many of the area's large, mid-century resorts that offer unique retro accommodations.
