Our gulf front room was clean and roomy, but bathroom a bit small, balcony very tiny! Liked in-room microwave and fridge, especially since food and drink VERY pricey ($3.75 for a soda?) Views were spectacular! Very crowded resort, with lots of families with teens/kids. Since we had extended family with some small children in our group, it was okay, but we definitely would not come here for a quiet couples getaway. No easy access to beach from main lobby or center courtyard. Limited parking. With exception of one very rude valet parking person, every staff member, from front desk to housekeeping was friendly, professional and helpful. $35 a day "resort amenity"fee was for things that many hotels provide free, such as self-park and wi-fi access, plus some kid activities. Enjoyed our stay for the extended family out of town wedding planned, but rooms and public areas could use some updating for prices charged.
Fourth stay at Dolphin Beach Resort. Second time with beach view-3rd floor.Great place to stay-close to restaurants,Publix grocery across street, beautiful sunsets. Room was nice,no problems with plumbing or anything like that. Beautiful view of beach-enjoyed watching sunsets from balcony. Flippers beach bar has entertainment on fri. and sat. night.Anyone with Gluten free diet like mine(celiacs) can find great pizza at Genaros in pasa-grill just a couple minutes south.(Publix has a lot of Gluten free items also). Took my own bread and the restaurant was fine with making me toast(lovem for that!)
Picked this last minute based on price and reviews. From the outside I was a little concerned but once I got to the room I was really happy. Very well done and updated. I was moved to one of their other properties with the kitchenette. I appreciated the tile floors being by the beach that seems much better. Bed was comfy everything I needed was there. The bathroom was really small but it was well appointed. Staff was very nice, beach access was handy and I have zero complaints. great value and location

The wonderful staff, and the large balcony with unobstructed view of the gulf were the highlights. The wireless internet was in and out, ranging from horrible to adequate. Fortunately I brought my hot spot and used it most of the time. The couches and the carpeting looked like they were from a homeless shelter. They should have been replaced years ago. I was told that renovations are planned, but in the meantime, I'd be nervous to sit on the couches for fear of catching something. We placed towels on the cushions as a barrier. The bed was awesome, and it was nice having a full kitchen. I would definitely return once a remodel had been verified.
St. Pete Beach stands out as a pioneering resort town on Florida's Gulf coast. Situated on the southwest corner of the Pinellas peninsula, St. Pete Beach is 10 miles from downtown St. Petersburg. Charming small shops and restaurants can be found along Corey Avenue's historic shopping district, and just south are many of the area's large, mid-century resorts that offer unique retro accommodations.
