Traditional outdated hotel

Posted 23-Dec-2014
The hotel is old and outdated. The chlorine smell is intense as you walk in the hotel. The ceiling is low. The personnel was very friendly and nice. Beds were OK. Stayed in it because of convenient location to Hamline University!!!

OK for the price.

Pros: staff, location
Cons: heat, coffee
In a good location for navigating around St. Paul, Mall of America and Roseville. Disappointing aspect was that heat was not working properly in our room. The staff however, was sympathetic and brought us a space heater for first night. The problem was repaired on second day. Free breakfast bar was adequate; however coffee tasted like hot water. As I said, okay room for the price.

Our daughter attends Hamline University. Nice location for visiting and attending school related functions. Also close to Como Park, which we enjoy! Nice central location for what we like to do and attend in the cities. room was clean, staff was very friendly. Enjoyed having a beer at the bar during happy hour. Would recommend and will stay in the future. Our only complaint was the air was pretty dry in room.

it worked

Posted 25-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
I found the bed to be extremely comfortable. Front desk staff were preoccupied. However, the room was not clean. Cleaning staff did not come until late afternoon and only seemed to do the bare minimum. They did not see the food left by the previous guest on the carpet which now had mold growing on it.

OK

Hotel was near a concert we were attending in the area. Room was small and very stuffy. Walls were paper thin. We could hear our neighbors until 3:00am. I would not stay at this hotel again. The best thing about the hotel was the staff - very friendly.

Nice Hotel close to fair ground.

Posted 15-Sep-2014
Pros: Had nice sitting areas around Hotel .
Cons: bigger pillows
Location: Close to fair ground and zoo
Was able to check in to room late , Asked for room close to pool and we were close to it , If we go again next year would like to have same room, was close to everything we needed . The only thing was not much for parking on side of hotel, but in front of Hotel there was a parking ramp. The staff was helpful when we asked questions about places to eat and how to get there .
