“Excellent location near airport for short stay”
We were very pleased that we found the Travel Inn Hotel on the internet. We needed one extra night in St. Maarten and it was a great choice. There was a McDonald's within walking distance where we had breakfast. A great restaurant "The Stone" was about 2 buildings down the street on the same side. It was an excellent place for dinner. The Hotel gave us a coupon for 2 free drinks when ordering an entree. That was our best meal of the whole week! There was plenty of parking in the rear of the hotel and checkout wasn't until 11AM. It wasn't a place where I would want to spend a week, it wasn't luxurious, but for the extra night before traveling it was perfect!
“TRAVEL INN - PRICE = QUALITY.”
LOOK ABOVE. Good facilities, friendly personnel
“Clean and Quiet”
When you travel what you need is a clean place to call base. I found this to be so at Travel Inn. It is quiet, within easy reach of supermarkets, the airport, and easy access to taxi and nus service.
“Good stop over place.”
Not a 5 star hotel, but for the area it is fine. We have stayed there before and the location is good for walking distance to stores and to places to eat. The management is friendly and helpful.
“Good for a couple of days”
We only stayed one night. It was a pitty that there was only restaurant to choose from in the area. But that one was real nice. Just 7 minutes walking from the hotel across the bridge. The wakeup service was perfect. The staff was polite and helpfull.
“Nothing fancy, you get what you pay for..”
Definitly not on any 3-4* lists.. Inexpensive place to sleep and take a shower. 2/14-2/21/08, second stay at hotel and not the last..
“Good for a night or two”
We stayed here our last night of our vacation. It's close to the airport and the room was clean and comfortable. There was a fridge and a microwave. There is no beach or pool, so it would not be a great place to stay for an extended time.
“Simple, inexpensive lodging for overnight flight connections”
We were not looking for the RITZ, as this was a simple overnight waiting for connecting flights the following morning. Room was clean, simple and adequate although the room safe was not functional. Our other choice had a two night minimum stay(New Years eve). Close to the airport, adequate food choices in the neighborhood were a big plus.Other than staying on St. Maarten, our other itinerary would have us overnight in Newark, New Jersey. Hmmm...St.Maarten....Newark... Probably cost us less money and got us to our final destination much earlier in the day.
“Mixed review”
The reviews around this one pretty much say it all. I found the people managing the hotel and restaurants below to be wonderful. I found the cleanliness to be sanitary but a bit lacking on follow through, and several items in the room could have benefited from some attention. For me, the important parts were covered and the location was both convenient and restful. If you are looking for luxery and instant access to the beach, it's probably not for you, but if you plan on doing a bit of everything and don't need the Ritz, you really can't go wrong here.
