“Villas SImpson Bay”
Beau condominium très bien situé à Simpson Bay. Magnifique piscine, cependant mal orientée.
“great location”
the hotel was great, the beaches were awsome, everything was within walking distance, we toured the island and thought that the simpson bay area was the nicest
“awesome rooms”
I have stayed in st maarten on numerous occasions and it was my first time here. The hotel in in simpson bay and very close to restaurants, etc..The rooms are tremensous. We had a two bedroom villa that has a full kitchen, LR, DR, big bedrooms and even two murphy beds in the living room. The gym is new and very nice but costs extra to use. The pool is very big and nice too. My only complaint is that the hotel does not have its own beach and you have to walk about 5 mins to use a beach, other than that its a great place to stay,
“Great hotel”
Great central location where theaction of SXM is.
“GREAT! BUT”
Overall this is a great place. Issue #1 with the hotel was that I reported a noise coming from the hallway area or another room; it was like someone needed to replace the batteries in a smoke detector. I called and reported it many times and was told that someone was working on it and guess what the whole 5 days I was there so was the noise. Day-Night!!!! All the time! Issue #2 The front desk staff needs more help! Prepare for a long wait; could be up to or more than 1 hour to get check in or out.
“Standard "resort" with a musty smell”
Overall, good location just outside the main strip in Simpson Bay. It has the feel of any resort down south, although our room had a musty smell that was tough to get over. It's a decent price point relative to other places on the island and it provides for a lot of choice with regards to restaurants (assume 15% service charge is always included in your meal) and water activities. Simpson Bay itself is more or less a tourist trap so just expect that going in. That said, it's one of the more vibrant areas on the island, especially at night. The report is across the street from a casino and parking is free. Pros: Location Pool Access to water activities Free internet Value for price point Cons: Not right on the beach Smell
“Great Place in a great neighborhood”
this is our 5th time on the island but only our first at this hotel. Aside from some staffing issues and the occasional smell from the sewer, this is a great place to stay. It's in the heart of Simpson Bay, with a great beach only feet away, and all of the best restaurants are within walking distance. I hope by the time we go back In dec, that the staffing issues are cleared up, but never the less, we will definitely stay there again. I recommend paying the extra and stay in the new building, it is worth every penny.
“Resort not hotel”
Conveniently located. Less than 10 minutes from airport. But you are not disturbed by airport activities. Nearby restaurants great. Excellent service at all restaurant locations. Large food portions. Try Toppers, The Stone, Bon Appetit, Bucaneer. This is not a hotel so don't expect things you would normally get at a hotel, tea and coffee in room, daily maid services, etc. If you want them you have to pay for them. You can take a boat ride to the French side or even to the dutch capital just at the marina located in the resort. for a small fee. Service excellent. Will visit again, now that I understand the concept of resort not hotel, I can plan better for my stay.
“NOT IMPRESSED BUT WOULD RETURN”
I ENJOYED MY STAY ITS A PLACE IF U JUST WANT TO RELAX AND CHILL ITS GOOD BUT RIGHT NOW CONSTRUCTION ONLY THE ISLAND REALLY BRINGS THE PLACE TO A CRAWL
“So-so”
The hotel is in a great location in Simpson Bay area, within walking distance to a lot of things and the marina with boat tours is located at the hotel which is nice. The main pool doesn't get sun for most of the day which is a bummer and the room we got wasn't very clean, but that may be because the hotel is going through a change in ownership and recently fired most of its employees. If you stay here, don't eat at Tippers. The owner has been caught illegally hunting sharks in the area, at Dive sites none the less.
