Sonesta Great Bay offers 237 air-conditioned guestrooms in a seven-story hotel wing and a four-story vacation rental wing, both with white exteriors and blue trim. Decor and furnishings feature white walls and ceilings, pale-tile floors, turquoise-and-orange fabrics, and caramel-colored furniture, including dresser/desks and armchairs with yellow cushions by a cocktail table.
Rooms at this St. Maarten hotel include furnished balconies or terraces and contemporary bathrooms with granite vanities, shower/tub combinations, or glassed-in stall showers without tubs. Guestrooms also provide bathrobes, MP3 docking stations, and minibars. Wireless Internet access is available. In-room safes are also available (surcharge). Beds have pillowtop mattresses and down comforters.

Sonesta Great Bay Beach Resort & Casino lies on Great Bay and its 1.5-km (1-mi) crescent beach, which opens to the south into the Caribbean Sea. Lounge chairs, beach umbrellas, and beach towels are supplied along the resort's beachfront.
Two pools are terraced above the beach. The lower pool overlooks the bay and measures 19.75m by 6m (65 ft by 20 ft); it has an infinity edge and a swim-up bar. The irregularly shaped upper pool is 18.25 m (60 ft) long. A 20-person spa tub also overlooks the bay.
A water-sports/dive center rents snorkeling gear (complimentary for All-Inclusive plan guests), kayaks, windsurfers, and sailboats. The center also arranges personal watercraft, parasailing, water skiing, wake boarding, banana boating, scuba-diving instruction/certification, and scuba-diving and snorkeling excursions (surcharges for all).
Tennis on the resort's lighted court, tennis racquets and balls, bocce, shuffleboard, beach volleyball, Ping-Pong, pool, beach croquet, and beach/pool lounge chair/towels are complimentary for both All-Inclusive plan and Room-Only (No Meals) plan guests.

“Sint Maarten's best resort”
My husband and I were on our Honeymoon , this wonderful resort made it so very special for us. The people in Sint Maarten are the most welcomming , and warm hearted folks around . The resort is newly remodeled with breathtaking views from every angle . The housekeeping staff visit your room twice a day, if need be. The Great Bay Beach resort is what visiting a tropical paridise is all about!
“Will stay here again.”
Nice place, people very pleasent and helpful. Room was cleaned twice a day, morning and evening. Breakfast was good and the Italian restraunt at dinner was very good. Lunch was ok. Hotel is right around the corner form Main Street in Philipsburg were all the great shopping is. You can walk there with no problem. They have a Hertz Rental Car Agent right at the Hotel. The beach and the three pools are all in the same location. WE will stay there again.
“Summer Vacation”
My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel for a week in July. We had a great time. The food was good and there was always something to eat at any time of the day. The drinks were very generous. Most all inclusive places tend to skimp on the liquor in the drinks but these were great. The staff was friendly and always ready to be of service. We would definitely recommend this hotel, and would stay again.
“Absolutely Great!!”
This hotel and the staff made this trip a real pleasure. Everything you need is right here. We did not have to rent a car because we could walk to the shops along the beach. If we did venture out we would take a shuttle or cab. All inclusive is the way to go. Island tour is included also. The upper restaurants have great food and the wait staff is very attentive. Will definitely return.
“Pictures don't do Great Bay justice!”
WOW! Pictures on the website are normally better than what you actually get, but not in this case. The hotel was simply beautiful. Our room was spotlessly clean and the housekeeping service was excellent. We were so impressed that we're talking of our next trip to St. Martin and will certainly stay here.

I have stayed at this hotel on more than one occasion and have found them to be very customer oriented. I especially enjoy the all-inclusive package that is well worth the cost.
“Third time is a charm”
This was my 3rd stay at this hotel and I enjoy it more and more each time. A great place to stay if you are looking for a low key, relaxing vacation. Compared to other all inclusive hotels I have stayed in the food is great and you can actually get a variety of beer that is not on tap. The hotel is conveniently located to town (a ten minute walk on the beach). The staff is outstanding. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning again next year!

This hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. This hotel is located in the ideal location, close to the shopping and the beach view is wonderfull. Great visit.
“St. Maartens”
The people couldn't have been nicer. The Hotel was located a short walk from shopping, as indicated. The bars were well stocked, the food fresh (we took the all inclusive option) and the restaurants were good. By the end of the week the managers all knew us and greeted us as friends. The Pools were clean and well kept and the beach was good (we got a storm with high tide and so we only had two days we could use it. Certainly not the Hotels fault). The pools were available and with the bar in the big pool....we really didn't miss it. There were cabs in front to take you on tours and they rented water toys but we didn't use it ...were were there for my wife's 60th birthday, which they acknowledged and were very accommodating.
“Beautiful Location - Amazing”
Within walking distance (5 min) on the beach to town & all of the beach bars, shops, eateries. View of the cruise ships. A bar with a pool that will swallow you up. Gorgeous beach. Loved it except the liquor was all bottom shelf. That must change. We drank & ate dinner elsewhere. Would go back in a minute but buy your own booze. Went to hotel up the street for happy hour every day. Can't find a better location.
