There was a hurricane while we were there which I certainly do not blame the resort or staff for. What I dod find disappointing was the staff's lack of knowledge or interest to help with all other matters. This included directions; and information about facilities on the resort. My phone also did not work while I was there and I need to call three times to have that resolved. Then the battery on my safe died and that also required there requests to have it fixed but after the repair man left, it still did not. The morning after the hurricane we had no water, although it had initially been back late the night before. When I called to get an idea of when that might be addressed I was told that the maintenance staff in charge of plumbing did not report before 9:00 AM! Lastly at Alexander's Cafe, the food was decent and the waitress fine but she was the only waitress. This occurred all three times we went, twice for breakfast and once for lunch. It tok 30 to 40 minutes to get each meal.

I'll be back...

Pros: Everything except steep hills and stairs to climb..
Cons: A dedicated shuttle on hilly side of resort. Route with stop at each building once per hour 8:00am-9:00pm, then on as needed basis until 4:00am.
Location: Shopping, grocery shopping, restaurants, beach, several pool choices, casino. Pool and play area for kids. Sign up for water activities.
Excellent services, very nice suites, and lots to do within walking distance.

Next door is nicer, but this is pretty good.

Stayed at the Flamingo Beach Resort next door for most of my stay and this place for just one night. The Flamingo is smaller but a bit nicer. This hotel is fine, clean and well-decorated but it sprawls over a big hill and the staff was not so friendly. Nothing bad about this place but nothing exemplary either. Pretty good views if you're in the right spot. I would stay here again if I couldn't get a good room next door.

Simpson Bay 2014

Pros: The housekeeping staff couldn't do enough for you!! Very accomodating~
Cons: exhaust fans in the bathroom and better lighting in the bathroom too.
Location: Perfect location! Near lots of restaurants, bars, clubs, beaches
This resort, which I have stayed at once before, is made up of several different buildings, sprawled between the beach and the hillside. All are lovely, but I always prefer the hillside to beachfront because of the views. They have been renovating a building each year, so this year I got to stay in an updated, renovated unit. I was not impressed. I felt like I could have been anywhere, there was no Caribbean flair to the room at all. I mean, it was nice, granite, stainless steel, but no ambiance or character. Also, no exhaust fan in the bathroom, which made getting ready a little tough. All and all, it's a nice place and the staff is pleasant.

Not a bad choice

The hotel is very close by to Maho Bay, Phillipsburg and Marigot and to some other restaurants. We were staying in building B and the view was just breath taking! Certainly a keeper!

Most comfortable rooms!

At first I stayed in the main hotel in a double room with a great view, very clean and neat. Then I moved to a Deluxe Studio, this place was awesome, fully equipped, everything new, and most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Staff was very friendly. Would defenitly recommend. A+

Love this place!

The Simpson Bay Resort and Marina was amazing! We had a wonderful time. We stayed in a deluxe suite; the room was very spacious and had all the amenities that you can think of. The kitchen was also fully equipped. The only downfalls were the Internet, some places were closed and the front desk guy took forever to check us in. Besides that I would say everything else was good! There was a shuttle that took us everywhere on the premises and even down the hill. The drivers were very helpful and nice. I really enjoyed my stay.

Pros: Convenience, pools, beach
Location: Great scuba diving, make sure you try Octopus Dive Center on thr French side
This hotel has everything you could ask for. Located on the Dutch side about 10 minutes from the airport. Newly renovated, Kitchen has all stainless steel appliances, fully equipped. Bathroom with walk in shower. Beautifully decorated. At the resort there are 5 pools, and a beautiful beach. With walking distance there are at least 3 great restaurants.

My wife and I checked in on the day of our anniversary and the room was nicely decorated for her with flowers, rose and wine. Beautiful setting, it was a wonderful atmosphere, we made some friends and the staff was amazing.
