Satisfied at Simpson

Posted 28-Feb-2015
Pros: The closeness to everything.
Location: Its about 10 minutes to airport and 20 to Phillipsburg. You need a car or you have to walk out of resort and get a cab/bus wherever you go.
We stayed at the Simpson Bay Resort mid February. The check in was so easy when we arrived at 430pm. We were given directions and our room keys, the towel card and a hotel packet. We were invited to “the breakfast” no pressure and we did not attend. Since we were meeting someone at the Peli Deli we waited to get to our room. The Deli is a little shop that has a bit of everything. Very expensive about 20% more than the grocery but it is very convenient. The people are very nice and always have time to chat. We arrived at out room B-Beaumont B225/B272 which actually happened to be two rooms because we were moved on the last day. T he rooms are spacious and clean and have everything needed to cook or store foods. There are no spices or storage wrap so you will need your own. Housekeeping comes daily to make the bed, take the trash and change the towels. They clean only once per week. They will replenish anything you ask for. We had a problem with the toilet that was addressed right away after we shut the water off. Laundry: You buy your tokens in the lobby $2.00 each and then in the B building while you swim you throw a load in. 1 token per wash & dry. Washer had hot water and dryer worked in 1 session. I brought my own laundry tabs which were given as a sample in the grocery store. It was so convenient to pack and use. The rooms have a laundry basket in the closet so it makes it even easier. Cell Phone: We used packlightsxm who delivered the phone to the hotel. We purchased mi

One quick night!

Posted 26-Feb-2015
Pros: Safe resort, friendly staff, clean.
Although we only stayed one night before heading to a cruise we did enjoy the condo. It had everything needed for a long stay, appliances, cook wear & it was quite comfortable. It was tastefully decorated & in great condition. The rain shower head yea baby! We were located on the second floor with a balcony (seating for 2 with a table) that had water views (not directly on the water) & we were within steps from one of the resorts pools. If you don't like to walk this part of the resort might not be for you. We walked down a decent size hill (a block or so) to check out the restaurants & a shop right on the premises. For dinner don't miss L'Isola Ristorante it was beyond fantastic! Also, the beach was small but nice. I'd love to go back soon!

Thank you Simpson Bay Resorts

Posted 22-Feb-2015
The room that I had was so perfect- i had views from both sides of my place- the mountain and the sea - waking up there was magical indeed! The room where I was had all the amenities in place (kitchenware, electronics, and furniture) - I love the grocery store and the casino that was within walking distance - would definitely stay there again if I were to ever get the chance to visit again.

good hotel at a good location

Posted 21-Feb-2015
Pros: Location, Atmostphere
Cons: Nothing but the beach at the resort could have been bigger.
Location: lots to do on resort. Also walking distance to other activities outside of resort
Rooms were freshly located in a village like resort. Lots of pools and good environment around the resort. Easy to get off the resort with lots of cheaper restaurants and shopping within a short walking distance. Also on the bus route to the local towns.

Friendly community

Posted 18-Feb-2015
Pros: Friendly. Accessible. Quiet. The grounds were well maintained and had a lot of mature plantings making the resort look like a nice village.
Cons: Keep up the maintenance and resurface some of the roads.
Location: Great spot on the island. Good beaches on site and nearby. Lots of restaurants and bars handy and a full service grocery store at the end of the road
Simpson Bay was our first experience on St. Maarten. We didn't know what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. Although it's the oldest resort on the island, our room had been recently renovated and met all our needs. They have many pools and access to the beach is a short walk. If you are unable to walk up and down hills, you would have to wait for a resort van, but one is only a phone call away. The resort has a small grocery store so you can stock your fridge with drinks and the fixings for breakfast, lunch and whatever.

Beautiful beach access at a reasonable price

Posted 14-Feb-2015
Pros: It's pretty beach and all of the pools made it a great place to relax and recharge.
Cons: Jokingly, a tram could be installed to provide more convenient access from the "top of the hill" to the beaches or the resort lobby.
Great pools (there are 5 on the property) and access to beautiful beaches. The unit we rented was nice, but at the top of the steep hill. A lovely view overlooking the central laundry facilities and parking lot, but frankly, we only slept and showered in the room so that view was not an issue for us. Walking access was a good workout every time we left or returned to the room. The water in the shower was cool, but not like taking a cold shower. Nicely equipped and a very comfortable bed. Restaurants on property were very good and the beach- and pool-side bars served up your favorite adult beverage. The resort staff was great. The resort is a easy walking distance to other restaurants, taxi service, or the very inexpensive public bus system, which is a great way to visit the island. We would stay here again.

Nice Hotel close to beach and great Location

Posted 7-Feb-2015
We stayed in a newly remodeled studio room which was nicely done. Love the location at Simpson Bay. Near airport and lots of good restaurants and night life. No view from our room but served good for us as we spend our days on different beaches on the island instead of the resort. Maid service was very good also.
