“Stop-Over Only”

We were only in for one night while waiting for our cruise ship. The staff was helpful and the room clean, but we didn't get the chance to experience more than that.

“New Years in St. Maarten”

The main hotel seemed nice. I visited some friends who were also staying in the hotel and their room seemed very nice for the price. My room however was located in one of the other buildings across the street from the main lobby. It was much older and not nearly as nice. I am a student so I am used to not living a ritzy life, however, I must say, I have stayed at much better hotels for the price. If you stay here, request the main hotel. Otherwise pick another hotel!

“Wait for the renovations to be completed”

The unit they 'assigned' originally was totally unacceptable. As per their web site, we expected to eat on our patio/balcony and have some view. The unit offered had neither. The front desk was very helpful and found us another unit. This is a large resort and they are in the process of renovating the units in all the buildings. The renovations are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2015. The units that are already renovated are nice. The unit we had, which has not yet been renovated, shows its age. I can not recommend the part we were in at this time for an extended stay (a week or more) if you expect to get a fine resort unit. The patio/balcony we had was very nice and we enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

“Don't expect much with the discounted room.”

I hope that people who paid full price for this resort would have a better experience. Our discounted room was something of a mole hole. We were on the ground floor on a slope so that the view from our window was a concrete wall. Everything felt somewhat damp and the fridge made ice all night long even though the bin was overflowing. Thankfully we were only there for one night. The resort itself seemed to offer lots of different things to do but we would not have stayed in that particular room for more than overnight.

“Disappointed”

Althoigh we checked in after 5 pm, we were assigned a room that had not been made up and was filthy. This is a large resort. We were given no map to find our unit, although later discovered that maps do exist. We had to ask parking lot attendants in 4 different lots before we found our proper lot and room. When we asked the concierge for dining suggestions, we were handed a bundle of cards but no help. A friendly bartender was much more helpful.

“Please read this”

We got an upgrade to a much closer room that didn't involve climbing way up to the "B" building, thank goodness, but our digs were outdated and had an awful musty odour and a loud airco. To be fair, the lobby was great and we presume the renovated accommodations would be nice. We took the best priced accomodation and would not go back for this deal.
