If you like sketchy, you'll love this!
First of all, there are people who live here...so you can imagine. The double beds are way too small for two adults to be comfortable, the carpet was absolutely disgusting, I'm talking wouldn't even walk around with my shoes off, gross! We were greeted in the restroom by 1/4 roll of toilet paper, yet clean fixtures and floors. Old, OLD TV with no remote...actually, there were two remotes, with one battery each and neither worked for that tv. No phone in the room, which is whatever. Long story short, just don't. Staff was cool though.

Crack head Hotel!
This place was terrible. First thing I see when I pull into the parking lot was cops, ambulances, and a fire tuck. When I went back and ask the lady at the front desk what was going on she had no clue they were on the property. The room was out dated and dirty. The house keeper not only didn't sweep and clean the coffee pot, but put stained sheets on the bed. If I could have gotten my money back we would not have stayed. Oh and one of the door locks were broken.

It was a scary experience!! People fighting in parking lot all night! No one in office at 9am when we went to check out ! Doors to lobby locked!! Bugs in bathroom!! Do not go to this place!!!

Mediocre at best
decent room size, fairly clean, turned heat on and only button that worked was high or off and it smelled like something was burning, toilet wasn't connected to floor. Other than that it was good for the price.

THIS PLACE HAS HIT BOTTOM--
I reviewed this place about a year ago as a clean cheap place. A lot has changed since then. They have changed management and have completely sold out to to transient long term stays. The only good point was the desk people. Let me start with I never really checked in this time. When we arrived a new person was at the front desk and I could tell there had been changes.Instead of the regular room I had gotten in the past which the manager admitted was renovated and kept for "non longer term guests" I was directed to a room in the far corner which required that we navigate two pit bulls ,which a woman said, "oh she won't bite you.... and he's tied up". Entering the room we were literally gagging from the smell of smoke and dog.Immediately went back to the front desk and said no to that room. She was very kind and said well take a look at this room. it was diagonal from the first room in the next building and required stepping over fallen pieces of the ceiling. Entering this room it smelled better but the floor was filthy and there was mascara stains on the pillows. We rejected this room. I said I have stayed here about a half dozen times and it has never been this bad and asked about the rooms I had in the past. She said the were not available. and gave me two more room key. The next room smelled of stale smoke and was not clean. The next room looked the best of the bunch it didnt smell, but it was not clean, like it hadn't been rented in months and bugs ran everywhere. we left

Basic Place to Sleep

THEY GAVE US A DIRTY HOTEL ROOM, THE STAFF WERE RUDE AND SO WAS THE MANAGER .. WE DIDNT EVEN STAY IN THE ROOM BECAUSE IT WAS SO TERRIBLE.

Hotel close to the charlston univercity
we checked in late. front desk was angry, said we were lucky as he didn't see our expediai reservation. but saod we were lucky, had a cancelation. when we woke up. there were more then half the rooms empty . we slept late so decided to do stay a second night. with all the extra activity going on, was no real room for sleep. terrible experience for any real traveler.

Affordable and in an excellent location
It's under construction but still accessible. The amenities are there but very old. You can see through the sheets and the towels are old and rough. My standards are fairly low, so I didn't mind the stay. However, my wife was creeped out, her standards are higher lol. There are a couple of businesses being run by long term residents, including a brothel and a shade tree mechanic.

Lost my reservation then put me in a smaller room
To many prostitutes on the premises. Hotel lost reservation and ended up trying to put 4 of us in a small, dirty room. Not a place I would recommend to any one!

disappointing time
had prepaid non smoking reservation. when I arrived desk attendant who was very frustrated said he had no rooms left. He called someone, probably manager, and they found a room It smelled of smoke but was fairly clean and I made it due. No continental breakfast in morning . disappointing more like a one star rather than two star.

Very quiet and comfortable room and environment.
The room was clean and comfortable. Good beds, bathroom, and well cleaned. Also, the environment is outstanding as well, that big parking lot, quiet and there was a river. I hope I had a extra time in the morning to explore the area.

Booked this based on the 3.5 star rating for my Marine son, pregnant daughter in law, and 15 month old Grandson as they traveled back to NC after the holidays. UNFIT TO STAY AND NOT REFUNDABLE!! Curtain ripped, Mold on the ceiling, FILTH on the chairs, floor, bathroom, EVERYTHING! VOMIT on the carpet! DISGUSTING! Couldn't have even put the baby down! UNHEALTHY for ANYONE to stay in, much less my pregnant daughter in law! Shady people all around! Many residents "stay by the month"! Not at all what I expected! Save yourself the trouble and DO NOT BOOK HERE!!! They had to go elsewhere after a 10 hour drive! These pictures are OLD!!! Totally run down! Although the hotel management would not refund our money, Expedia did a wonderful job making this awful experience right. Thank you Expedia! Avoid America's Best! Would give negative stars if I could!!!

Visiting family for a few days. The stay was best for just sleeping at night but would not recommend it for anyone who plans on spending anytime at the hotel. Room size was excellent but smelled awful. Outdated and a slum basically for people to stay. Cops visited atleast twice during our 3 night stay looking for someone.

poorly maintained
Reserved room with king bed. they didn't have it. so put us in room with two double beds which was cheaper. the first room the door was wide open and tv on and had no towels in it and the bathtub had water in it. second room was dirty. had 3 towels one of which was stained. no washcloths provided. to call in to room phone was not possible because the phone didn't work. the tv remote was missing the battery door and batteries kept falling out. my boyfriend ended up staying there the next night unexpectedly with his son and was given same room. it now had I my 2 towels and a piece of toilet paper that was on bathroom floor when we got there was still there for his stay. boyfriend and I do romantic get a ways about every 6 weeks. we won't be staying here again.

The room was filthy, it wasn't fit for a pig. It did not have the full kitchen that was advertised either. The floors did not look like they had ever been vacuumed, they were very dirty. The bed had a big brown spot on the sheets so it obviously was not changed.

Check in was pleasant and the food at the coffee shop/bar wasn't bad. From there, things went downhill. We had a non smoking room but we were surrounded by folks smoking outside on the balconies and the room adjacent to us must have been a smoking room because the odor was so strong we trouble sleeping without covering our heads with a pillow. If you're sensitive to smoke, avoid this place!

Very bad, mirror fell off the wall while I was asleep and landed on me. Blanket on the bed had cigarette burns in it.they did not have my reservation when I went to check in.very rough area of the town as well

One Night Stay
I had a room near the river, it was quite and the room was clean. It was nice to have a small refrigerator and microwave in the room. I have spent much more for a room that was not as nice as this one.
