“The Best Hotel Ever”
This hotel is new, lovely, great food in the rooftop restaurant, good service. Bathroom is fabulour. The hotel is literally across the driveway from the airport in Athens. We walked across the driveway and into the airport to check in at 3:30 AM. We chose this hotel since we had such an early morning flight. However, it was a great place to stay, very luxurious. Well worth the price anda geat last night for our trip.
“I wish the rest of the hotels in Greece were this nice!!!”
I initially balked at paying this kind of money for an "airport" hotel, but given a late arriving flight and an early morning departure, the proximity (and prospect of cab fares to a less expensive hotel farther away) made this choice look like the right one. Surprise! This hotel is wonderful!! The room - "only" a standard double - was the best we stayed in on vacation! Beautiful, contemporary design, great linens and sparkling clean. Worth every penny and then some.
“Didn't Want to Leave”
Extremely comfortable beds, didn't want to get up!! Having the shower head on the ceiling of the shower stall was like walking in the rain!! The food was fabulous I want to go back
“Happy in Athens”
Fantastic, first class, and convenient too
“Extremely convenient for Athens Airport”
My family spent two nights here on a recent trip to Greece. The Sofitel Athens was very convenient to the Athens airport for early morning flight back to the US (especially given the fact that the taxis were on strike, which resulted in not only our lack of ability to use taxis, but occasional bus routes that were closed due to the striking cabs.) We were able to take the metro (45 minutes) from the airport to Syntagma Square, which was both inexpensive and convenient. The rooms were quite expensive, however the beds were some of the most comfortable that I've ever slept in, and the shower was amazing! Originally, we had only planned to spend one night, but ended up spending the last two nights of our trip here. With our change in plans, there was a miscommunication within the hotel, so neither of our rooms was cleaned after the first night. However, the management was very gracious in fixing the problem. The staff was extremely gracious and welcoming.
“Athens”
The hotel was very clean and the staff were helpful with whatever we needed on our brief stay.....it was very convienent and within walking distance of the airport, with flight information screens in the lobby.
“great hotel to stay”
nice, clean and convenient. right at the airport, next to the subway to the downtown area, only 6 euro one way. Particularly good for late arrival or early departure
“Very Nice Hotel”
Very impressed with everthing at the hotel. Very convenient for an overnight stay when your connecting flight leaves the next day as they are directly across the road from the airport. For as expesive as this hotel is, they should allow for unlimited internet access for guests. Only the first 15 minutes were free and then they charge for additional time. Overall, if I was just passing through Athens again, I would definitely stay here because of the convenience of location,
“Only way to go when traveling back from islands to USA”
The Sofitel Athens Airport is worth every penny if you're looking for a convenient, elegant hotel with great service en route from one place to another without a desire or need to go into town. The location is obviously unbeatable, right across the street from the main terminal, in terms of waking up and catching a flight or getting to the hotel after a long flight. The service is super friendly and efficient. The restaurant on the top floor is pricy but top-notch. Don't miss the sweet little health club with a pool, spa, and fairly decent (but small) weight room that have great views and windows!
“Very Comfortable Rooms”
I stayed at the Sofitel after arriving late at night in Athens. The hotel is walking distance from the airport, which allowed my wife and I to avoid taking a taxi at midnight into the city. The hotel was very busy during check-in, so it must have been full for the night. While checking-in, I was offered an upgrade to a room on the Executive Floor. I don't have status at Sofitel, so it was not clear if the upgrade was due to paying in advance through Expedia or simply if the hotel was over-sold that night. The executive room was very nice -- nice decor, plush carpet, large bathroom and shower, separate room for toilet, and very comfortable king bed. I only stayed at the hotel for about 11 hours, so I did not get a chance to enjoy the gym. I would highly recommend this airport from a convenience and comfort perspective.
