Having opened in 2001, the building is converted from what used to be the Grade II listed jail, guardhouse and ammunition building of Hillsborough Barracks. This combines an historic atmosphere with modern facilities.

Each room has a newly updated flat screen TV with Freeview, direct dial telephone, modem point, Free WiFi access in the Bar, T-Mobile wireless network in rooms, hairdryer, luxury toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities. Room service (not 24 hours) is also available.
Dining
The Jailhouse Restaurant is open seven days a week serving a wide range of meals from all over the globe, from the traditional steaks to the continental & home made. The Jailhouse Bar serves both residents and non residents alike. During lunchtimes relax and enjoy a fine pub lunch on the leather sofa.

“An Excellent stay”
An excellent value for money hotel.Beds are extremely comfortabable and the room was very warm on a very cold night.A very good breakfast that will set you up for the day.Have stayed here many times and will do so in the future

We have now stayed at this Hotel five times.Very good value for money.Everywhere clean and tidy.Bed is very comfortable.The morning breakfast is very good with plenty of helpings.Right next door to Morrison's supermarket and Petrol station.A good range of meals are available in the adjacent pub.
“Excellent Stay”
A most enjoyable stay.Staff very friendly and customer focus.Excellent value for a weekend.Have already booked again for July.Nice to have somewhere to park the car in a city.
“Pleasantly surprised”
A very pleasant hotel with good sized rooms, a lovely bar and good wholesome food. The breakfast was excellent.
“Would definitely stay there again”
The room was very comfortable and well equipped with toiletries and tea things. There was a lot of choice from the buffet at breakfast, even fruit salad. Service at breakfast was very good and the Vegan in our party was offered an addtional item istead of the egg, bacon and sausage. We thought it was excellent value for money.

Very good and nice place. I recomend it. The only problem is the location: far from the city center but near to a tram stop.
“Good alround Hotel”
This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel.We visit our son's who live in Sheffield and the hotel is situated between their homes.Although situated in a very busy area its very quiet.The rooms are comfortable and well laid out.The bed very comfortable.An excellent breakfast is provided either English or continental.You can also eat in the main restaurant where the food is good and very generouse helpings.To much in many instances.We shall be staying here again in December A general comment would be that some areas of the hotel is looking tired and in need of a spruce up.The plants and flowers outside a very relaxing.

“Very decent hotel for the price”
My husband and I stayed here for one night. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was great. Our room was clean, nice and warm considering it was freezing outside. We would definitely be staying there again if we are ever back in Sheffield and need a hotel.
