"Perfectly located for the SF marathon."
The mattress was not that comfortable but the rest of the room was lovely. The staff was great and the bathroom products ROCKED. Oh, and they had water for the marathoners in the morning.

"Nothing Fancy, but comfortable."
We were in Cali for a few days and went with this place since it was a pretty inexpensive option in the city. The room was pretty small and the appliances were old, minus the TV. The room we had was nice enough to have satelite so there were a lot of channel options, but after an hour the TV would automatically shut off because of some preset timer that we couldn't figure out how to get rid of. It was super annoying because we'd be watching a show or a movie and the TV would shut off without any warning. The room didn't have air conditioning, which I thought would be a problem, at first but luckily there was always a constant breeze blowing which kept our room cool. The bed however, was so super comfortable. As for the hotel staff, they are very to the point and don't really engage in conversation so sometimes there is a kind of awkwardness that arrives. The lite breakfast they offer is basically juice, coffee and pasteries. It would have been nice if there was fruit or something else so it wasn't the same everyday, but the options they did have were delicious. Overall the room and the hotel met our basic standards while we were staying. The location has some great restaurant options and is close to A lot of things in the city. If you're not looking for anything super fancy, but comfort, I'd recommend it.

"Right on the money"
This was one of our stops on a 9-day road trip through California. San Francisco is notoriously expensive; we wanted decent lodging at an acceptable price. The Civic Center Motor Inn fulfilled this criterion admirably. Front desk staff was efficient and helpful, offering a detailed city map and well-informed enough to answer all the questions we had. The parking lot was a little scary: there was some graffiti on the back wall and signs everywhere to the effect that no one would take responsibility for loss or damage. Not very reassuring, but the next morning our car was intact, so all the disclaimers may be more of a formality than a necessity. Our room was clean and appeared recently (and tastefully) decorated, if a bit on the small side. The location could hardly have been better: we were within two blocks of many restaurants and pubs. We are always cautious about walking after dark in a downtown area, but here we felt safe enough to walk around and sample the local fare (which was, as expected, pricey and excellent. There were many people out on the street, most of whom appeared sane, harmless and civil. All things considered, we were happy with our choice of hotel.

"Gracious Staff: walking distance to Union Square"
The staff impressed me greatly. They were helpful and seemed genuinely happy to be of assistance. I was running the marathon and asked for a 1 p.m. check out, fully expecting to be told "no". Instead, I was told "absolutely", then they offered even more time for me without extra charges. Their valet was organized and fast.

"Pet friendly and easy stay "
We were moving from Taiwan to Utah and needed a place to stay over night with our dog and cat. There was a $25 pet fee, which wasn't a big deal, but we only stayed for a total of 12 hours, just so we could get some sleep before the next stretch of the journey. We checked in around 10pm, check in was quick and painless. We got settled in the room. The room was clean and nice, nothing super fancy, but decent. It isn't in the nicest of areas, but it wasn't sketchy or uncomfortable. The parking lot was very small so when we had to get our car loaded up and out the next morning that was a tad tricky. They do have overflow parking with a sister hotel across the street. Overall decent stay, nothing fancy, but the price was right.

The park is home to the Children’s Creativity Museum, Cartoon Art Museum, and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. If you’re in SoMa during baseball season, don’t miss a San Francisco Giants game. The ballpark is often considered one of the most attractive in the country, as homeruns splash down into McCovey Cove. You can even rent a boat and float in the bay, waiting for a homerun ball to fly into the waters. If you prefer paint splashes over sea mist, make your way to CounterPULSE. This funky theatre is a hot spot of art and activism, with eclectic art and dance performances throughout the year.
