Room was gross. Did not look vacuumed. Room smelled of cigarettes and quite frankly, the whole building smelled of cigarettes and trash.

Reception crew was very friendly, location is great, room was of good size. But there were issues. Cleaning of room was poorly done, inconsistent, done late in the day when it was performed and not finished. Breakfast dining area was not well maintained, plates and silverwear ran out more than once. Door to building would scrape open, few amenities available. Shower would either be extremely hot or very cold, hard to find a good middle temp.

This is an excellent hotel both for the price and its proximity to the Notre Dame campus. I especially thought the facilities such as the gym were top notch. Also, the breakfast buffet had a large variety of healthy and delicious food. My only concern was with housekeeping. Apparently, the housekeepers only clean the room once every few days due to being short of staff. I'd advise hotel management to look into hiring more of them as it was difficult for me to schedule a cleaning during my four-day stay.

Water is very, very hot. Do be careful when adjusting water temperature. Distance is walkable to University of Notre Dame, but in nice weather. If inclement weather (cold), best to drive over. Very nice touch with cookies & iced tea in the afternoon, found in the lobby. Overall, a very nice stay!!
