“Terrific hotel for the value”
Perfect launching pad for the Amalfi coast. Hotel is safe, clean , funtional and a great value.
“Sorrento City Hotel, Sorrento, Italy”
We are regular European "short breakers" and found the Sorrento City to be one of the most convenient & central hotels we have stayed in. Both the double room and en-suite shower room were compact but spotless and had there were added benefits of a modern supermarket and competitively priced cafe on either side below which really suited our budget requirements. The combined Train Station and Bus terminus were literally only 2 minutes walk away so our break started almost immediately, as time was of essence to start our sightseeing itinery which included Pompeii, the Amalfi coastline, Naples & Capri. All of the staff without exception were very courteous and nothing seemed to be too much trouble when we asked for directions, timetables or information. On our leaving day we needed to be at the station at 6.30am and a full breakfast selection was prepared for us exclusively in advance of the normal breakfast start time. For value and quality of service, we will definately make this hotel our first choice on our next visit to Sorrento
“The perfect base”
My mum and I were more than happy with our recent stay at the Sorrento City Hotel. The ladies operating the front desk were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a twin room at the front of the hotel overlooking the main street. This meant there was a lot of street noise late into the evening but this didn't affect our sleep when we'd shut the balcony doors. The room was small but adequate as a twin. There is a table and chairs on the balcony so we were able to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the world go by in the evening. There was a good continental breakfast provided. The hotel is situated round the corner from the train and bus station which was excellent when we arrived off the airport coach with a large case and also for hopping on the train to Pompeii etc. It's also very near the steps down to the port to catch the ferry to Capri. Sorrento is a very busy place and I was glad we'd chosen to go at the beginning of October rather than July/August. There is a handy supermarket on one side of the hotel and a very tempting patisserie on the other. The tourist information office is hidden away off the street going down to the port and was closed when we found it. However they did have a printed sheet on the counter which had all the ferry, bus and train times on it. This was invaluable as we were only there for 3 days and wanted to visit Capri, Pompeii and Versuvious. I would certainly recommend this hotel as a convenient, friendly base for exploring the area.
“Quaint Quality, Perfect Location”
We knew not to expect high maintenance with a 1.5 star hotel, but Sorrento City was above & beyond what we expected. Yes, the rooms were small for American standards, but it had everything you needed and extremely clean to boot. The location was amazing for the town itself & for traveling the Amalfi coast. The only thing we would've liked was a refrigerator, but they had a vending machine downstairs and a grocery store next door.
“Perfect location”
For a short break this hotel fits the bill. It is clean, well kept and staff are helpful. Rooms are adequate with good showers. Location is perfect with only a short walk to train/bus station or to main piazza needed. A longer stay in the summer may warrant the need for a hotel with a pool, otherwise I would be happy to stay at this hotel again.
“Very nice hotel. Very well centrally located to all transportation and night life.”
I chose this hotel based on other's previous comments which are all true. This was a perfect hotel for reaching the train and bus stations. And the grocery store is next store and very convenient for little snacks and drinks for the room. The hotel was comfortable and clean. The staff are very nice and helpful. The best attributes are the little balconies in the front rooms. If I make it to Sorrento again, this is my hotel choice.
“Good value in Sorrento”
People at the front desk were very helpful and accommodating, at this centrally located, well-kept hotel with the typically small rooms one finds in Italy.
“Perfect for convenience”
Hotel is situated practically on the main square of Sorrento, a 5 minute walk from the main bus/train station. Perfect hotel to use as a base if you're planning to explore the Amalfi coast. Everything is right on your doorstep - beach, restaurants, shopping and transport. Despite it's location on a busy road, I didn't find that we were disturbed by any noise from the street. Hotel was extremely clean. Staff were so helpful and accomodating. The only thing I was disappointed with was the breakfast but I would let this put anyone off. I'd definately recommend.
“Lovely Little Hotel”
We(me,husband and 2 teenagers)had a quadruple room at the back, a king bed and bunks but very sturdy bunks that could be folded away if more space needed. Our French doors opened onto an enclosed terrace which caught the sun nicely most of the day, but no view. Room service and cleanliness was excellent. Staff polite and helpful, handy modern laptop with internet connection in hotel lobby.
“Customer Satisfaction Prioritized”
As soon as you enter this hotel you will feel that you are going to be well taken care of. The room is really neat, breakfast is served commendably and the staff are great people.
