“Sorrento's best kept secret!”
This family run hotel had excellent service, the best breakfast we had in the whole of europe (including home made cakes!!). its less than 5 minutes walk to the main street, and within walking distance of the train station and the port (where you can catch the boat to capri etc). This is definately a best kept secret hotel. fantastic. enjoy your stay.
“Very good hotel”
The Savoia was a few minutes walk from town so quieter than the main streets, only 5 minutes from the main bus and train station. We had a lovely big room with a balcony at the front and views over the front garden. The breakfast was as good if not better than the reviews I had read about this hotel and the coffee perfecto! Helpful and friendly staff. I've already recommended this hotel to 2 people and I would go back and stay there again if I went back to Sorrento.
“To Sisters in Sorrento”
My sister and I stayed at the Hotel Savoia in Sorrento for three days....it was wonderful. The owners were helpful, the breakfast was delicious and the location was great, just 3 blocks from Piazza Tasso, the main square. We enjoyed our room with a balcony and would definitely stay here again.
“A gem in Sorrento”
This a great value small hotel which provides excellent service by friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are small but very clean and well furnished. The bathroom was immaculate. The included breakfast was the best that we were offered in our three week trip and would cater for all travellers' needs. The was a short walk from the Sorrento train station but out of the main tourist area so that it was quiet and safe. Would certainly return here in the future.
“Savouring the Savoia”
Picked the right place when we opted for this little charmer. Family run with cakes for breakfast. The hotel rooms are actually in a residential apartment block next door, access by key card, but that's no hardship, and you are less than five minutes walk from Tasso Square right in the centre of Sorrento, although you have to watch for scooters at your back as the Italians often don't see the need for pavements.
“Watch the world go by”
We stayed at the Savoia and found a few opportunities to sit out on the Terrasse and drink lemoncilo and watch the world go by along the narrow road below. It was a pleasant walk down town, a bit scarey with the traffic in places as the only footpath was a narrow painted strip on rough cobbles along the side. The road to town has not been there forever it is along the top of a large ravine still visible in places, at one point you pass by a very old building,a water mill, built way down at the bottom of the ravine and due to the steamy conditions the ravine is full of ferns. It was close to the train and bus station if you took the stairs under the bridge to avoid the long way round. It would be good to add clear instructions or a map to your directions. The breakfast was plentiful and all inclusive of eggs and pancakes fruit yoghurt etc etc Sorrento is a lovely town with plenty of things to do, we also took the bus to Amalfi and Capri is not far away.
“Very friendly and comfortable.”
We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel in Sorrento if you are on a budget. We were made very welcome and the breakfasts were great. We will be booking in here again.
“Hotel Savoia -- living among friends”
A friendly, informal set-up -- our room was not in the building in which the reception is situated, but in the next building. This was great -- it almost gave you the feeling of staying in your own flat in a traditional Italian building, since only some of the building belonged to the hotel. The room came with a little balcony, from which you could see glimpses of the other flats, and a bit of the lemon grove right next door. In the morning you need to go to the main hotel for breakfast -- which was probably one of the best I've had in an Italian hotel, and absolutely amazingly good value. The fresh, made-to-order pancakes are especially good, and a memorably unique touch. Service was friendly and always helpful, and the location fantastic -- useful little newsagent on one side, and a great Italian pastry and icecream shop on the other; just far enough from the tourist rush of Piazza Tasso, but a very easy walk both to the centre and the train station. Definitely recommended!
“Nice family run hotel”
Plusses- friendly family run hotel, easy walking distance of railway and also main town. Great breakfast including eggs or waffles. Comfortable room. Owner kindly offered to drive us into town as it was raining hard for a while - we walked. Minuses- thin walls, bathroom fairly cramped. Road into town doesn't have a proper pavement for a couple of hundred yards - keep your eyes and ears open! Overall - Fantastic value hotel near the action. We had a great couple of days in Sorrento.
“A great base.”
This hotel scores highly in its central location - it is five minutes from the centre of Sorrento, five minutes from the bus/railway station and has a couple of supermarkets at the top of the street - and yet it's on a quiet street. The only drawback is the lack of a footpath and the need to be careful with traffic. It is a family run hotel and the owners are both stars - always at hand and will give answers and advice for all. It is a bed and breakfast hotel and breakfast is more than you would expect with pancakes and fried eggs on offer. My wife and I were here for a week and found that it was excellent value. It's not a four star hotel - it lacks the sitting areas and the facilities of a luxury hotel, but you don't go to Sorrento to sit in a lounge.
