“Wedding Dreams”
My wife and I were married in Positano and we stayed at the Belair for the nights surrounding our wedding. The position of the hotel is wonderful, the staff was helpful and nice and our superior room with a view was simply breathtaking. I like my beds a little softer though, and the pillows were little better. The room was large and had wonderful furnishings including a marble fireplace. I recommend trying to get breakfast included and get room service at least once. Breakfast on the room balcony is great! The food was good for breakfast. I do not know about supper.
“A Wonderful Surprise”
Booking on line I was worried as to what we would find at arrival. Truly a 4 star hotel. Everything was wonderful. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The views were spectacular from our balcony as well as every other part of the hotel. Just a 15 minute walk down to town. Its the walk back up the hill that works off all the calories. Breakfast is inclluded and very good. We were there on a Sunday night when they offer a special to all hotel guests. It is truly a must. We ate on the balcony and watched the fireworks across the bay while we dined. Just beautiful. I am sorry we didn't stay longer but had reservations further away. We would definalely return, and stay longer than 2 nights. We took the bus down the Amaphi Coast. Sit on the right side for the best views. For shopping in town walk down and go to the first alley way on the left. All the shops are there and we would have never found them on our own. The main street is very expensive.
“Very impressed by the total quality of this hotel.”
Wished we had stayed longer for another 3 days. The staff was extremely courteous. This is aplace to enjoy totally. View from all rooms is spectacular. Only small negative is that pool is not heated and you can freeze your guts in october.
“Excellent Choice for Our Twenty Fifth”
Planning a trip from pictures on the web can be very frustrating. Looking at all the different places to stay can be a crap shoot but when I rlled the dice and booked the Belair it was like making a hard twelve. The accomodations were very nice. The room was large enough and very clean. The hotel itself is built into a mountainside and when you open the doors to your balcony the view takes your breath away. The only downside to our trip was we didn't stay there for the 10 days we were in Italy. Sorrento is beautiful.
“Hotel Belair met all our expectations”
We have just returned from Sorrento where we stayed at the Hotel Belair. The location, for us, was perfect. Beautiful views from hotel rooms which are extremely clean and comfortable and a good size. The hotel overall was spotless. The choice at breakfast was first rate and included fresh fruit and gorgeous pastries and croissants. There were several choices of juice, breads, cold meats, cheese and you could even have a cooked breakfast on request. There was something for everyone. The walk into central Sorrento takes about 20 minutes which was fine for us who are early 50s and fairly active. Probably not so good if you don't enjoy walking. The swimming pool area though not overly large, was private and intimate and again, clean and well kept. To be honest, I could not find anything negative to say about the hotel. The staff were also very helpful, pleasant and professional in all respects. I would definitely recommend this as a solid hotel if you are choosing 4*.
“Quiet Sorrento Hotel with view”
We recentely stayed in the Hotel Belair for 5 days in April 2008. We booked our travel package thru expedia, and when we arrived they gave us an upgrade to a room with a very large balcony with beautiful views of the Grand Marina and Sorrento. The staff at the hotel were great always willing to help,The breakfast in the morning was great, especially sitting in the sun on the outside deck. The hotel was extremly clean freshly painted throughout. The pool was open but the bar was closed not in season yet. The parking was free. The short walk to town was very nice and scenic. (waterfalls, waterviews and fruit trees everywhere) I would go back in a heartbeat. Love it and miss sitting on the balcony in the evening drinking the local wine.
“A little bit of paradise”
We stayed at this hotel as part of our silver wedding anniversary celebrations. It had been recommended to us by family but as we normally self-cater, we were a little nervous about two weeks in a hotel. We need not have been. The hotel is wonderful. The staff are extremely professional, helpful and friendly. The building is set into the cliff and so has spectacular views of the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius but without any road noise. My husband is a chef so we are quite fussy about food. The breakfast was lovely with a super range of pastries, fresh fruit, meat, cheese and breads. Dinner was very good with a four course meal as part of the DBB package. We were on B&B but ate in the hotel for the majority of our meals. The room was very comfortable and clean. Air conditioning throughout was most welcome in the very hot weather. We are planning a return visit!
“Brilliant”
This hotel exceeded our expectations. Lovely 'old Italian' charm and staff were very friendly. The location was perfect for us as we are quite fit and didn't mind the cliff steps or the walk uphill from the centre. Beautiful view from our large balcony. The pool was gorgeous and althought the water was a little chilly you soon got used to it. We had hot weather (end of May)so were happy to cool off in the pool which was very clean. A very quiet spot.
“Great Value for the Money”
Overlooking the Bay of Naples with views of Vesuvius, Naples and Sorrento is the Hotel BelAir. This unpretentious hotel is a 10 minute walk to downtown Sorrento. That may put some travellers off, but it was fine for us. Accommodations are simple and functional. The main feature of the hotel is the view from all the rooms. The complementary breakfast with a view is totally adequate. Hotel staff are friendly and very helpful.
“perfect holiday”
stunning view from the room. helpful stuff. very good for the sightseeing around bay of naples and amalfi coast. i would stay again.
