“Sorrento's Best Hotel!”
Recently stayed at the Grand Aminta which was recommended through a friend, and it was even better than expected. Extremely easy check in, as we were held up in traffic and wanted to get in our rooms quick. Nice room, very clean and comfortable. But the views and pool area are the best, with a great/reliable bus service down to the centre. Excellent breakfast also with friendly waiters!
“looking forward to going back someday soon.”
The Hotel had very friendly staff on reception, around the pool and bars etc, the dining room staff were very efficient. The food was of a good standard at all times. The pool however was not heated and pretty cold at first but you soon got used to it, it was a great way to cool down. I think the small pool at the end was probably too deep for children that could not swim and would therefore need constant supervision. The curtousy bus was a god send because of the Hotels location being on a hill ( great views though from the terrace) due to the drivers break the 10.30pm return from Sorrento was not available which meant going back either on the 9.30 or the last one at 11.30 to avoid a very steep climb. Other than that no complaints.
“Recommended Hotel”
Hotel sits high above Sorrento and has commanding views of the Bay of Naples. There is a free shuttle bus to and from the centre which could benefit from additional times. However there is a public service bus which stops outside the hotel both ways. Timetable is available from reception. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Food is good but there are also a number of good restaurants in Sorrento. Taxis are very expensive from the station to the hotel. When arriving at airport would suggest using airport bus from airport to Sorrento and public bus to hotel which leaves from outside railway station where bus drops you.
“Wonderful location”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and especially appreciated the superb view from our rooms-well worth paying a bit extra for rooms with sea-view. Reception, restaurant and pool staff were very helpful although we did feel that more information on transport up/down the very steep hill into Sorrento should have been more available. The times of the free shuttle bus were quite restrictive and meant several sweaty hikes back up the hill! Also, the pool area and equipment, though much appreciated during our stay, are insufficient for the numbers using them. However, generally,a lovely hotel in a beautiful location;if in the area again, would choose it again.
“An excelent hotel, highly recommended!”
We stayed here on our honeymoon and like most expedia customers, I read through the reviews of the hotel before I booked. I can honestly say that we weren't at all disappointed. The hotel is spotlessly clean, extremely well maintained, offers unbeatable views, idyllic setting and a truly excellent holiday experience. The staff were first rate and this added to an unforgettable experience. The breakfast and lunch menus are superb (we only had 1 dinner at the hotel as there are so many wonderful places to eat in Sorrento). The pool area is well maintained and the pool is clean (albeit slightly on the cold side). The bar prices for drinks are expensive and everything gets charged to your room so you can easily spend more than you intended! The only other thing is the irregular times that the shuttle bus runs into town. The walk down is steep but pleasant, however the walk back up is very hard work, this coming from a physically fit 26 year old!! Be sure to be at the bus stop early as the bus often departs 5-10 minutes before the designated times. If you miss it, taxis are silly money, leaving the hike back to the hotel as the only feasible option. However, these are only minor points and did nothing to change our opinion that Sorrento and the Grand Hotel Aminta is an excellent place to stay. We would love to recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again some time in the future. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
“Scottish wedding reception in Sorrento”
An emaculate hotel set in the scenic hillside of Sorrento, surrounded by olive, lemon and orange groves. Very friendly staff who speak excellent english for the basic Italian speaking tourist. Very nice rooms in the hotel and also in the annex building to the rear of the hotel, which is only 2 mins walk from the pool side. Every meal is excellently prepared and most nights have entertainment in the form of a pianist or neopolitan dancing. It was an excellent experience, the hotel staff made it an unforgettable time and the hospitality of the owner ment that everyone connected to the wedding will be back in Sorrento, only this time we will all make sure that we stay in the Grand Hotel Aminta!!!!
“Loved Aminta!”
Didn't know what to expect, but this hotel was better than I imagined! The staff was very friendly, the grounds are gorgeous! Come here if you want quiet because it's not situated in the town center, although the hotel provides a free shuttle service to the town square. (just be sure to tip your driver). I loved this hotel and recommend it highly.
“F A N T A S T I C !!”
What can I say. We are difficuly people to please at the best of times. This hotel was amazing the people were so friendly, efficient and professional. The made us feel so special. The food was amazing. I cannot reccommend this hotel enough !!
“Wonderful Hotel”
This a wonderful hotel, up the hill and away from the town. The staff really goes out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The view is amazing. If you prefer to stay in at the hotel, the food is wonderful as well. There is a shuttle to and from town, but runs a little infrequently. It is an easy walk to town, but may be a hike back up for some. If we return to Sorrento, this would be our choice for a hotel.
“BEST HOTEL IN SORRENTO”
My mom and I stayed at the hotel Aminta for 8 nights. It was wonderful! Everything was taken care of for us, even my lost luggage. The hotel staff was amazingly professional and courteous and helpful. They helped us plan our excursions and figure out how to get around on the ever confusing buses. The room was always clean and the view was breathtaking!! The food in their restaurant was also amazing, one of the top restaurants we ate in Italy over all. They made sure that everything was perfect for us every day we were there. The hotel bar was hard to stay out of too, lol. I plan to come back to Italy very soon and I will definitely stay there again and again. This hotel is deserving of a 5 star rating.
