Henderson Drive, Chard - Map
"In the dark"
My review needs to be objective because we didn't arrive until nearly 11pm on Christmas day after a very hard 5 hour drive on very difficult roads with a very large trailer so we were very tired and it was very dark. Sandwiches & soup were promised but only sandwiches, clearly from the dridge, were left for us, the soup would have been appreciated, and we were told to help ourselves to a bowl of nuts and then we were left, all staff were gone, lights turned out! The room was perfectly acceptable, a bit like a Travelodge room, it was clean as far as we could tell but the towels smelled very strongly of a very strange detergent or chemical that was not very nice. We got up and needed to make an early start, we hoped there would be breakfast but saw a note on the reception desk that said breakfast started at 8.15, we needed to leave at 7.30…..purely by chance the breakfast chef (very nice chap) turned up early not knowing breakfast was at 8.15 so he knocked up some eggs, bacon & toast and I dealt with the coffee machine. We never actually saw the hotel in daylight so I can't give an opinion of any views but I got the impression from the road trip that it was surrounded by a housing estate, a little odd as hotel locations go and a little isolated but then everything is in Devon.

"The Farthings Hotel"
We had a most enjoyable overnight stay at The Farthings Hotel, with a very warm welcome on arrival, a large, comfortable and well equipped room and excellent service throughout our stay. Our breakfast was served in the most pleasant dining room by staff who were both friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to my family and friends and am looking forward to returning there for a longer visit.

"Lovely hotel!"
Hotel is a lovely characterful building and the staff are helpful and friendly. I was working in Shepton and stayed in the attic room. Not a large space but perfect for my needs as a lone guest, spotlessly clean, tasteful decor, a lovely comfortable double bed , a table for laptop work , en-suite shower/bathroom and a thoughtful choice of lighting. Unfortunately I didn't eat at the hotel due to work commitments but ould love to stay there again on my next overnight stay in Shepton. This time, i will definately try out the restaurant and bar (food smelt lovely!).

"Lovely cosy hotel with great spa"
We had a wonderful stay here for 30th birthday celebrations, stayed in the tudor animals room which was a lovely size, very tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The spa was delightful and we stayed to use it even after we checked out, nice hydrotherapy pool and outdoor big hot tub. We didn't take evening meal here but there were really nice lounge and bar areas and breakfast in the conservatory was great and with good choice. Will go again.

Really accommodating. So happy breakfast was ready whenever we were, despite them being fully booked for lunch. They even ristled up items that weren't on the menu.

These are lovely apartments but make sure you don't have a downstairs one. There was a child upstairs who kept slamming doors and constantly running around from 6.30 in the morning.
