"Recommended:Good service and facilities"
It was good to stay in a hotel which is different to the more modern spa hotels where all the rooms are the same. The staff are keen to assist in any way they can. The receptionist remembered my name and staff in the restaurant had the knack of being there when needed and somewhere else when not. The restauant may not be to everyone's taste. It seeks to be high cuisine which means the food is very good but the portions, whilst adequate, may seem a bit small to some. It is also expensive. However, unusually for this type of restaurant there are some reasonably priced wines available. I would recommend that guests try the restauant at least once but if you prefer something more homely there is a really good pub about 200 yards away with a thatched roof, cask ales and the home baked pies are just brilliant. Breakfast at this hotel is teriffic. Its not the usual buffet available in most hotels anywhere on the planet - you order what you want and they prepare it fresh. Try the porridge - its great - actually, so are the muffins and eggs, - and the salmon - and the full English and the coffee - they even get the toast right! The spa is very good. It is small but there is a hot tub, warm pool (not really big enough to swim in) a sauna, steam room , laconium and various showers. They also let you wander around the hotel in your bathrobes. This is a good hotel which is not pretentious in any way. I would have no hesitation in recomending it to friends.

"Great Hotel."
It was the break we needed on our travels around the UK. One night in this lovely easy to find hotel was the refreshing change we needed. Our lovely room opened out onto a garden setting which made for a relaxing afternoon. Having a restaurant and bar within the complex made our meals a pleasurable walk away.

"One night getaway"
Lovely hotel, booked a Saturday to Sunday as a night away from it all after Christmas. Spa was nice, it was small and compact had a small sauna, outside hot tub, massage chairs but there was no steam room, but because it was quiet it was fine, nice hydro pool this was the main part of the spa. We didn't have any treatments but the spa is free for hotel guests, but you do have to reserve a space in advance as it is small, we didn't do that but got lucky. We booked to eat in the hotel, really loved it there very polite and attentive service, took our coats and drinks orders, everything was delicious food presented perfectly. Breakfast next morning we where shown to our table, food was good sausages where lovely standard english and continental, I would say the eggs needed a little more work but eggs are always hard on a buffet. I would say my only complaint about the whole stay was the thickness of the walls in our bedroom, we where on the bottom floor in a building away from the main area and the people above us were making a bit of noise.

These are lovely apartments but make sure you don't have a downstairs one. There was a child upstairs who kept slamming doors and constantly running around from 6.30 in the morning.
