Good for the money

Posted 10-Nov-2014
Pros: It was pet friendly and a good location for sightseeing in the area.
Cons: The flush on the toilet did not work very well, glass shower door would be prefered. Wifi access not very good.
The hotel had everything we required, it was good value. It was very quite considering the location ie, m5 moterway

Pros: space
Cons: lighting
the only complaint I would have is the room lighting, not suitable for late night reading or paperwork

Budget Accommodation for a Stopover

Posted 2-Nov-2014
Cons: Warn guests not to use the postcode for directions on a sat nav! DO NOT type in the postcode for the hotel on your sat nav as it takes you on a deto
Positive: fine for a stopover: clean, comfortable en-suite room. There are fast food outlets as well as a petrol station on the premises. Negative: DO NOT type in the postcode for the hotel on your sat nav as it takes you on a detour that ends in the middle of nowhere on the other side of the motorway! We were not the only guests who made that mistake! It is located at the Taunton Dean Services, between Junctions 25 and 26, South bound.

Just a bed for the night

Posted 29-Sep-2014
Pros: The room was a good size.
Cons: Breakfast, room was a bit shabby and rundown. Eating facilities
Location: A motorway service station and nothing else.
An unusual experience in as much I booked the room and barely spoke to anyone other than the guy at reception when I checked in. It was purely for convenience that I choose this hotel, along with the cheapness it offered. I wasn't looking for anything other than a place to stay with wifi. I was disappointed however at the lack absence of any dining facilities, or even a vending machine to get food from. The bed was poorly made, the sheets seemingly a little small and the reception was rarely manned. It didn't bother me so much as I was just there to attend a training session down the road and I wanted to rest more than anything else, but I think it would have been better to book myself in a B&B.

Good value for money

Clean, staff courteous, convenient for motorway, ideal for stop-off before continuing your journey. Access to cafe's and restaurants, although some were expensive. Good value for what we paid.

Great place to stay

Posted 8-Sep-2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Can't think of anything .
Location: Lots to do if you have your own transport . Taunton Town Centre lots of pubs restaurants and shops. Chedder Gorge and Dawlish costal walk in reach.
Reached the hotel later than planned . The gentle man on reception was pleasant friendly and very efficient. Was very informative when asked about distance to Taunton Town Centre. Would stay there again and highly recommend it to other travellers although it a little bit far to town centre if you don't have a car.

Taunton Town

Posted 5-Sep-2014
Pros: The hotel was clean and easy to get to. It was also easy to get in to Taunton. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Location: Taunton is a lovely town with lots to see. Town centre map free from TIC also includes a Heritage walk .
I was going down to Taunton for an interview so wanted somewhere close and easy to get to with parking space. This fitted the bill easily being directly off the motorway.

Good for a stopover

Room was dated and there were cobwebs on a couple of the walls. However the rest of the room was comfortable and clean. It was excellent for an overnight stop on the way to Cornwall.

Nice staff, clean but dated well used Hotel

Posted 6-Aug-2014
Pros: Located to close to the required area. Security appeared excellent and i could rest knowing my car and contents were safe outside. Reasonably priced.
Cons: Modernised, better sound proofing
Location: Good
Could do with a refit, but it was clean. Quite a bit of road noise from the M5 at all times. Not an unpleasant stay though and would use again for the right price.
