“Lovely hotel in the Tuscan countryside!”
Excellent and beautiful hotel! My only complaint is that in our bathroom there was a tub with a hand held shower and no shower curtain. We always had trouble keeping water in the shower and not all over the floor. This in no way influences my opinion of this lovely place. The restaurant is excellent, I do not feel the prices were too high, perhaps as bit more than your usual trattoria, however, quality and service more thank make up for it. The wine list is outstanding too!
“Absolutely fantastic views”
My husband and I have recently returned from a touring holiday around Tuscany and Umbria. We stayed three nights in Il Chiostro and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As requested we were given a room with a view, and what a view, over the beautiful, breathtaking, Vall D'orcia. although the room itself was not overly large the bathroom was beautiful and the service very friendly and helpful. We would certainly stay here again.
“We loved this hotel and location”
The hotel is lovely, with a nice terrace garden and beautiful views of the valley. They had and excellent modern art exhibit in the court yard and the indoor dining room. The hotel is in the center of the old town. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We would go back in a heartbeat.
“Great hotel for the price”
Hotel is in the building that used to be some palace. Which means it is not a modern building and you might need to adjust expectations. The room was ok. Bathroom was very clean and fairly modern. Plenty of towels. After first day they noticed that we have a kid and were leaving extra towels for us. Hotel staff was extremely friendly, treated us almost like family. We stayed for a week and by the end everyone knew us. The best part were breakfasts (which were included in the price of the room). They included local Toscana specialities: bread, meats, cheese, crousaints, etc. I wish I could have breakfast like that every day.
“Excellent hospitality”
Excellent hotel in beautiful location!! We were upgraded to a suite with a lovely view!
“Amazing Scenery”
This Hotel was very charming. The hotel staff were very friendly and more then willing to help with any questions. The restaurant was very good and the view was amazing. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends
“Excellent small hotel near museums in Madrid.”
Good location, very comfortable rooms, and helpful staff.
“One of the best.”
For a relaxing few days there is nowhere finer than the Hotel Relais Il Chiostro di Pienza. Thoroughly recommended. Fabulous views.
“GREAT FIND!!”
Loved the hotel and the location of Pirenza. It was right in the heart of Tuscany and was an easy drive to many of the sights. Great views and swimming pool to enjoy after a day of sipping wine and sightseeing. Recommend lunch and tour of Banfi winery.
“Distinctive and good”
The guides comment that it is unusual to walk around a medieval cloister and sleep in a monastic cell as part of a holiday. Well, don't miss the opportunity because this is a really well run and welcoming hotel, with a great ambience and a wonderful restaurant, with staff always willing to offer help and advice. Despite the pedestrianised centre in Pienza it is permitted to load and unload luggage right by the door and parking is available within a short walk.
