A gem of a place near a remote train station
Grifo is very close to the train station in Montepulciano. It has 2 very relaxing gardens that can be used to eat or read outside. There is a fantastic pizzeria nearby that makes the whole experience very Italian!

Very Nice Hotel in a Convenient Location.
Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was also fairly priced and tasty. Good location to tour Tuscany and would recommend it to friends and family.

Nice off the beaten path!
We arrived at the Grifo Hotel not knowing what to expect as it is off the beaten path. What a lovely time we had in our short stay, the folks behind the counter were very accomodating and lovely people. They just recently bought the hotel and are making upgrades to make it a better experience. We had a room with 3 beds for the 4 of us and enjoyed it. The breakfast was quite good and the staff very attentive. Would recommend if you are passing through the area and need a place to stay.

Wonderful Stay off the Beaten Path
If you are looking for a great place off the beaten path, this hotel will fit the bill. It was quite comfortable, affordable and an overall great find away from the typical tourist areas. It has 24 hour desk service, which is not always an option away from the main tourist towns. We arrived quite late and the kitchen was closed but we were advised of the restaurant about 200 meters down the road that was still serving after 11pm. Breakfast the next morning was very good with fresh fruit, breads and espresso made to order. Our stay was in the warmer part of August and there was no actual air conditioning. We just opened the window and were comfortable, but do keep this in mind if you are looking to book during a hot summer month. Also, this is a fairly remote town, so don't expect a lot to be withing walking distance of the hotel. Another word of warning (not a complaint for the hotel) is that the GPS system had us drive through the country instead of a more direct route off of the highway. Check the address and the route if you are using that for directions. We arrived fine, but it could have been a better route. Again, not the fault of the hotel.

Great hotel if you have a car.
Unfortunately we didn't do enough research on this property's location to the old town of Montepulciano. We are travelling by bus and train and this hotel is 10 kms. from the old town. That translates to taking taxis and they're very expensive!!! 25 euros each way which is in my opinion highway robbery! If you have your own vehicle this hotel is great. The owners were fantastic and very helpful! They did drive us to town once and picked us up at the train station. Charming folks that work very hard and long days. The food in the restaurant was very good and the wine pours were very generous. We would stay here again if we had our own car. With not too much time to catch our train to leave we called the taxi for the 1 km. ride to the station and were floored when he asked for 20 euros! The taxis are unbelievably expensive.

Very convenient
Very convenient if driving to Rome from the north on the A1 Autostrada and are getting tired and it's getting late. Hotel is very clean and comfortable for a 3 star. You park your car on the rest stop/gas station side of the hotel (without exiting the Austostrada, and the night manager will drive you to one of the local restaurants for dinner and will pick you up when you have finished dinner. The next morning you are ready to head for Rome. Breakfast is 5 euros so it might be better having breakfast at the Autogrill at the rest stop.

Genial für einen Zwischenhalt
Sehr gut gelegenes Hotel für Italienreisende. Von der Schweiz bis Kalabrien genau auf halber Strecke gelegen. Man muss nicht mal von der Autobahn. Das Personal sehr freundlich und kompetent. Die Zimmer einfach aber sehr bequem ausgestattet. Sehr sauber! Das Essen im Hotel sehr gut! Schnell serviert und auch dort, sehr freundliches und kompetentes Personal. Wir kommen wieder😜👍

Il Grifo Hotel
Hotel comodissimo, perchè è accessibile direttamente dall'area di sosta sull'autostrada senza dover uscire e con un suo parcheggio. Ha un ristorante ( Bisteccheria Toscana) dove abbiamo mangiato carne alla griglia molto buona. La camera era comoda e pulita.

si mangia benissimo, ottima carne. la posizione è strategica, sei sull' autostrada, entri all' area di servizio di Montepulciano e arrivi diritto all' albergo. Grosso modo sei a un' ora da firenze ed ad un ora da roma. personale molto gentile e attento alle richieste. sicuramente ripeterò l' esperienza. ottimo per chi vuole spezzare un viaggio lungo. la tagliata di filetto tenerissima accompagnata con un ottimo vino locale di Montepulciano. Strepitosa la focaccia con un saporitissimo olio d' oliva . Qualità prezzo molto interessante

Il frigo non funzionava ,molte lampadine fulminate e il bagno datato con le rubinetterie ossidate dal calcare e luce non funzionante allo specchio

Egregio cliente, il frigorifero così come le lampadine funzionano solo se pigi sul tasto per farle partire, lei ha staccato le luci nella stanza per questo motivo non funzionavano. Quanto alla rubinetteria è stata sostituita in tutte le camere, circa 1 anno fa. la Ringrazio e mi auguro possa ritornare presso la nostra struttura, convinti che la lasceremo certamente soddisfatta. Sehr sauberes, ideal DIREKT an der Autobahn gelegenes Hotel mit liebevollst ausgestattetem Interieur! Vor dem Frühstück (05:00) Uhr weggemusst, dennoch Kaffee und ein kleines Lunchpaket mitbekommen!

Super !!! Personnel à l'auteur, petite escapade à Montepulciano avec le service navette mis à disposition par l'hôtel 20€ pour 4 personnes avec le choix des horaires du départ et de la rentréel! Très propre Je le conseille, pour petits séjours car il est à côté de l'autoroute, et pour de long séjours géographiquement bien placé

Nettes Hotel in der Nähe von Montepulciano
Der Aufenthalt war mit einem Besuch der Tochter verknüpft, die auf einem großen Weingut in der Nähe ein Praktikum absolvierte. Die Hotellage war ideal und es gab auch kein Problem mit einem zusätzlichen Frühstück. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt und würden es beim nächsten Mal wieder buchen!
