We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The staff were attentive. The hotel in general had lots of character with sloping floors, and wooden beams on walls. I found the common room with a fireplace a nice touch. There was a mix up with the booking and we ended up taking the last family room but it was all sorted out in the end and the staff were very apologetic. The evening meal was expensive but very high quality. The breakfast was pretty standard compared to the dinner but gave plenty of cooked options. Ludlow itself is a lovely town. We went during the medieval Christmas fayre so it was quite busy. There were quite a few local arts & crafts / antique shops in town if you are into that sort of thing.

Stayed 5 nights whilst visiting relatives nearby. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms large and beautifully clean. Beds extrtemely conmfortable. Plenty of towles and soap provided but no extras like shampoo, body lotion, shower caps etc. Overall excellent value for money. Spent most of our time with relatives so didn't try the breakfast or nearby restaurant facilitiies.

The hotel was convenient to the town centre which was our biggest concern. Staff were friendly and the reception rooms were beautiful and cosy for a warm after a cold evening out and about. The room was basic but had everything we needed I would definitely stay at the Lion again without hesitation.

The availability of parking in this tiny little village was incredibly valuable. We were greated with kindness and efficiency ... the room was clean and comfortable, if perhaps a little worn ... breakfast was delicioius.
