Disappointing stayPosted 12-Nov-2013 on Hotels.com
Where do i start? The nightmare check-in process. Greeted by a pretty Chinese woman, who was shouting..i had to ask her to speak softly and that i wasn't deaf, I said all this with a smile. She didn't listen obviously, as she kept on with her loud tone. Highly embarrassing, with quite a few people gathered at the lobby, going for dinner. Service at the hotel was overall poor - the breakfast staff..rude.Had dinner drinks at the Horizon Club - and they overcharged a glass of champagne - 582 RMB for one glass. When i asked the waiting staff if they had made a mistake after the bill was presented, they said no mistake. However when i checked out, the amount had been reduced and the explanation during checkout was 'sorry, yes, we made a mistake'. Dont need this hassle - horrible experience... NEVER will return. My client who was in the same hotel was as disappointed. We live and learn i suppose.

Great Hotel.....amazing staff.....!!!Posted 12-Aug-2013
Pros: The amazing staff.......
Cons: Everything was perfect...inclduing location.
Location: Close to river, shops and business areas.
Amazing hotel with all the luxuries, but the amazing effort by staff to keep you happy regardless of your requirments. Personal service room the doormen/women to the room cleaners. Made a work trip a joy

Rooms a little outdatedPosted 29-Jul-2013 on Hotels.com
Overall this is a great hotel. The hotel's facilities (gym, restaurants, etc.) and common areas are up to the standard you would expect from a hotel of this category but, as I have experienced in several Shangri-La I have stayed at, the rooms are a little outdated and are in serious need of some "refreshment".

In the heart of the international banking sectorPosted 21-Apr-2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is situated ideally for the financial district and only a 15 minute cab ride from the Bund area across the river. Plenty of nearby bars, restaurants and shopping malls. The service is excellent and the huge multi-national buffet is one of the best I've eaten at in any hotel.

Always a big fan of the Shangri-La, the hotel in Pudong was one of the best. Excellent service, pristine conditions and a fantastic location with the river, fine dining and easy access to all of the local attractions just footsteps away.
