this was recommended by a friend who stayed once as a clean and safe place, no frills. at first, we were impressed by the decor and the spaciousness of the room. yes, we were very far away from the elevator and had to navigate the hallways up and down the small sets of steps interspersed, but we traveled light so that wasn't an issue. however, our hotel toiletries were only half full (and the shampoo had someone's hair caught in the cap - ewwww!). we requested new shampoo and got it, but they neglected to replenish any of the other items during our 3-night stay. they also didn't wash our cups, replace the tea that we used or even provide the biscuits that were promised with our "business suite". the staff were completely unhelpful and did not speak a lot of english (my chinese is rudimentary and should have been sufficient). they didn't have a wine opener, so we had to resort to more primitive methods (umbrella tip) to open a bottle of wine and ended up spilling some on the floor. during check-out, the maid called down to the front desk and they threw in a charge for having dirty towels. i would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. we were accosted by homeless people jangling cups and chanting, "money money money" before we could even step out of the cab upon arrival.
