“Classy, Professional and Friendly... and that's only the front desk!”
Beautifully furnished. Immaculately kept. Professionally staffed. I stayed at the Artnouveau for 9 nights during July and I, along with the guests I showed the room off to, were thoroughly impressed. The rooms are not large but they are laid out very efficiently (the layout was much like the Citadines Apart'hotels), but furnished in a very stylish, classy way. Gave a sense of private luxury, without waste. The cleaning service was of high standard, but they do not offer cleaning services on Sundays. Reception is always well staffed, and they were friendly and willing to help out with any inquiries I had. The hotel's restaurant had a pianist and violinist playing during dinners and the food I sampled there was top notch. The service there was also very professional. The only things that I would like to see changed at these residences: - Free WiFi should be standard, especially seeing S Korea does have among the world's fastest internet connections. - For larger people, the shower would be very difficult to enter (but the rainforest showerhead is to die for). The way the door swings into the shower means you have to squish yourself into wall to close the door behind you. - The power for the washing machine/dryer is connected to the keycard mechanism - you can't just throw in some clothes to wash & dry while you're out during the day; you have to sit around and wait for it. All in all, it was a VERY enjoyable stay and should I return to Seoul, I will be staying here again.
“A Good Choice”
The hotel is an hour drive by bus from the airport. It was a bit far but provided a chance to see the city from the freeway. The hotel itself is stylish, clean, and the staff is very friendly. The room was clean and very comfortable. The surrounding neighborhood offers everything I wanted. There was new shops and behind the hotel was a more traditional neighborhood with lots of restaurants and bars for going out at night. That was very cool. The subway was close and easily accessible. I would definitely stay here again.
“Free Wireless and Free Business Center Use”
Everything was what I expected, but they don't have any music at the Fitness Club, or TV at all.
“Lovely hotel”
The hotel was well located for my conference held at COEX, but if you're in Seoul for travel, it takes about 40 min to travel to the other tourist sites. The Boungensa Buddhist Temple near Coex is worth a visit, especially on thurs 2-4 where they have an English tour. It is a short taxi ride or about a 25-30 min walk in the heat to COEX. There are loads of small restaurants, coffee shops, and other shops near the hotel, especially in the back streets away form the main roads. The hotel was very comfortable, with rooms decorated nicely and more interestingly than your normal 4 star hotel. In addition, you could open the windows. Service was good. On check-in I asked if I could have a quiet room and they located me in a room away from the street-recommended. B'fast was just OK, but if you eat a traditional Korean b'fast would be great. Need to learn how to make decent coffee. Overall, enjoyed the stay.
“What more could you want?”
I stayed in a Crystal suite and it had everything I could possibly want for a week's stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean, there was a lounge area, a kitchen, washing machine, even a universal power adaptor, and reasonable internet rates (the only thing missing was an iron). The "wine buffet" in the evening is also great value, and offers a wide range of cuisine, although it was hard to go past the sushi and sashimi. As it was only a half hour walk (5 minutes by train) to the Coex, it was a convenient location for a conference.
“Frequent stayer”
I have stayed at the Art Nouveau on numerous occasions taking a Crystal room. This time, I decided to upgrade to a Sapphire Suite. It is a much better experience all around. The kitchen is open (not inside a closet) and the bathroom is larger so you don't have to squeeze to get in the shower. Being an end room, you get windows on two wall so you don't have the feeling of being inside a long dark box. Having said this, I still think the Crystal is a great room and a reasonable price and I would recommend it and the Sapphire. The disadvantage of the Art Nouveau is that it is mid-way between two subway stops so a little inconvenient to get around by subway. The hotel staff are always great and it seems they have been taking English lessons because their fluency has increased sharply. A couple years ago I had a hard time asking for an iron and ironing board; now there is no problem. It is unfortunate that last year they closed the work out room and moved everything to a small room where all the equipment is squeezed in but it still works for a good run on a tread mill or weight lifting.
“Great location and great service.”
Excellent hotel, clean, near many sights and the COEX shopping mall and world trade center, also near a bus to the airport and great staff with a great restaurant/lounge on the top floor.
“One of the Best”
The only thing missing from my room was wireless. Everything else was really great!
“Friendly, convenient and extremely comfortable”
A great apartment hotel in a good area. Easy to reach by airport bus. Expedia name this place as Yeoksam Artnouveau City, but in fact locally it's called Artnouveau City I as there are 3 similarly named hotels in the area. The suite had a fully equipped kitchenette area tucked behind folding cupboard doors. This included a washing machine, electric hob, rice cooker and sink. There was also a substantial sized fridge/freezer. The decor was as you would expect from a place named art-nouveau! Lots of period style mirrors and furniture. The bathroom was small, but had a great shower. The living area was comfortable with large screen tv and plenty of desk space for working. It could be shut off from the bedroom area using sliding doors. Throughout the suite there was plenty of cupboards - you could almost move in! The bed was super-comfortable and all in all I don't have anything to fault this place on. It is located a 5 minute walk from two subway stops, although I spent much time walking into the central area of Gangnam.
“Nice hotel”
This hotel is just normal 3 star hotel not 4 and 1/2 star as advertised. The loby is very small, staff are very friendly and very helpful. The bathroom is very small, the room also small but decoration beautiful.
