Very convenient location to Hongdae and subway line 2/4/5, lots of restaurants on the street below, but be aware there are slopes and the hostel has stairs. Could be hard for large luggage. The owner Richard is really friendly and responsible. Basic communication in English/Chinese are both fine. Room itself is small but clean. Bathroom is separated from where you sleep but shower head is just above the toilet. Also only saw some small towels. Overall had a nice stay there.

Thank you for coming in my hostel. If you come my explaining direction, there is very flat and convenience. The korea toilet arrange shower head together. Maybe per country is different. We arrange face tower per room.Next time i will arrange more bigger room. Thanks

The property is clean and just a five minute walk to Sinchon Station. The owner is very friendly and checked in on my friend and I every day to make sure we could find everything we needed.

Dear customer, usually we are always talking with customers but you didn't want to talk much. So we couldn't do communication with you and help to you. Maybe you are living in korea and you can do by yourself. Here is hostel for foreign tourists. customers are coming from out of korea.Because you were living long time in korea, maybe hostel style isn't proper to you. Sometimes foreign customers living in Korea make reservations in hostel cuz price is more cheaper. However since the customer is already familiar with the Korean style, it is better for the customer to use the Korean accommodation.And most of the customers are college students. Since you're old so I arranged your room on the lower floor. Next time if you book hotel or local motel, there is better to you. Foreigner hostels are more efficient if you always talk and communicate with each other in a pleasant manner. Thank you for coming in my hostel.

It's not a luxury hotel, it's a hostel. Our stay was like crashing at a welcoming friend's house. The location is convenient to the subway, and also has a lot of shopping and places to eat in the area. Very walkable. Room was a good size (we had a bunk bed and a large bed), bed was comfy (we slept on the large bed, spread our luggage contents out on the bunk beds), and the blankets were great; my teen wanted to buy a set. It might be snug if 4 people were staying and had a lot of luggage. The bathroom was also a generous size and fully stocked. It's an Asian style bathroom, a wetroom, there is no shower curtain or shower stall so things get wet. Good water pressure and large bathtub. Room had a small bar fridge, and there is a larger fridge in the common area that could be used as well, as well as dishes and cutlery - like staying at a friend's house. He checked in on us via text when we were out and about to make sure we were ok, offered suggestions and assistance to make our visit easy. And he speaks English. Yes, when traveling to foreign countries, we should make an effort to learn the language, but sometimes we don't have time, sometimes we try and still suck at it, so having a host who speaks English was reassuring and made the trip less intimidating and more relaxing when we were "home." Save the stressful attempts to communicate in Korean and bad sign language for when you're navigating the subway and your t-card won't work. 他也会说中文。

Had a brilliant stay at OPPA hostel! The manager Richard was amazing and became our friend on our stay there (even played football with him and his team!) The area is great to get around the city and has loads of restaurants outside the door!

Richard, the owner was an excellent host during my first hostel stay. He went over and beyond to be accommodating and make sure I got what I needed. I got sick so had to spend more days in the hostel than expected and it was quiet where I was able to rest and recover. Very grateful for that!

Great location for a good price
Great location with a subway station less than a block away and a 24-hour dumpling restaurant about 2 blocks away. The place was affordable and clean with great service. Wifi was strong in the lobby but it was spotty in our room. Sometimes it worked and other times it didn't.

Thank you for coming to my house. I told that per room can use free wifi in the hostel cuz per room arranged wifi machines. Cuz some cellphone need to use different wifi signal. Sometimes your tablet pc couldn't contact in your room wifi. But another customer cellphone could use strong signal wifi everyday. Sometimes If tablet PC or special company phone can't find a signal. This is cellphone or tablet PC problem ^^. Because I'm not engineer so I couldn't explain detail. Maybe first floor wifi signal is proper to your tablet PC. Usually wifi signal is strong in the hostel. I hope that you have a great trip. Thanks

If you aren't looking for much, it's fine.
The stay was not ideal, we were not first time visitors to South Korea, and we know what to expect in terms of hospitality. Perhaps the host is accustomed to inexperienced backpackers, who don't mind all of the conventions of the hostel experience. However, we booked a private room, and the Hotels.com page listed a number of amenities that simply were not provided. Our host was helpful arranging airport transport and tours, however would schedule things without confirmation or consent, and then that was the plan we were stuck with. The hotel's space and rooms were clean and quiet. Not a terrible stay, just not up to the expectation set by the listing.

Thank you for coming in my hostel(guesthouse). Here isn't hotel^^ If you were feeling uncomfortable, i'm sorry about that. Usually I'm very gentleman^^. Here is backfacker guesthouse so we just arrange simple stuffs in room and private toilet. If you need anything, you can offer in reception. So sometimes customer can't be satisfied 100%.We just try to support cheap price and clean room to customer. So sometimes customer can't be satisfied 100%. When I was arranging DMZ tour, I just needed to follow agent schedule. But airport taxi arrived on time. Next time I hope that you can find better place and enjoy your trip. I always do my best^^. Thanks.

Hotel near to the subway Sinchon stn exit 5 or 7.Also,near Sinchon shopping street.Airport bus transfer Station also nearby. Room wise more suitable to budget conscious and backpacker style travellers. That person is not me as I prefer hotels with full room facilities.

Fantastic hostel that’s in a great area with plenty of food options. Right next to the Sinchon subway stop. The room I stayed in felt like a hotel room since it was so well maintained, and had everything I needed to enjoy a comfortable stay. Richard, the host, was extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for hotel quality but at a hostel price. Amazing place.

Boarding school - BEWARE !!!
Room did not have a table and chair. The wall papers were torn out and tv sound was not working. The fridge was not plugged in. Towels are not provided and when I requested a small face towel was given. There is no kitchen in the place and breakfast consists of a toast and jam and butter only. The room felt cold since the owner tries to save money by switching off the heating when you are not in the room. You cannot carry your room key either and are forced to leave at reception. The owner does not allow any food, drinks in the room and threatens of fines if you do so. You are also not allowed to invite any friend /s in the room and if you do so then there will be a fine. The place is run like a boarding school and there is too much of heavy handedness as mentioned above. Avoid !!!

Thank you for coming oppa hostel. Do you know why I was explaining rule to you long time in first floor. Because you always asked me that which club is better and your women customers are beautiful. So I need to take care of my customers so I was staying late night until you came back in hostel. Actually traveller book our hostel but if you wanna stay girl or do one night standing, you need to book motel. The custome always judge hostel and post their opinion. And hostel also judge customer after customer check out. Sometimes customer can think that i'm perfect person but we didn't let customer know. That's why we don't wanna make customer unconvenience. First you need to understand different room decoration and I explained how to control sound but you didn't understand. The first floor has kitchen and breakfast. I asked you that do you feel cold? But you said that I'm fine. But suddenly you sent text to me 3am. If you do that ,how can I control heater. Our reception is until 11pm and I was staying until midnight . But you came back so late from clubs. I I told you can borrow adapter and plug in reception. I hope that you try to become real traveller customer. Have a good trip.

Nice hotel near to station
Nice location, it's near to the station and shopping area where we could go shopping easily. Nice staff, he is friendly and helpful who can speak multi language! The room is comfortable and tidy, and the toilet is big and clean. Overall speaking, we had a great experience.

Well-Equipped, Good Location, Prompt and Staff
Amazing location and really peaceful lodging. The scale for luggages is very helpful, and checking in and out is a breeze. Tip- The restaurant pictured below is at the entrance of the lane you need to go up in order to get to the hostel. It is in the same neighborhood as the Vogue Hotel.

Value for money
Keep in mind that this is hostel and not hotel, do not expect too much. The building is clean and nice and comes with lift and weighing scale. The hostel was on a slight up hill, and walk distance about 10min to Sinchon Station Line 2. The hostel supply light breakfast - bread, jam, milk, water, corn flakes etc.. The host was good, overall was ok except that the room was pretty small. But then the bathroom was huge ratio to the room.

Short stay but it's worth it
We only stayed there over night before going to my bf home town but location, price and amenities are all good. It's very accessible with subway and bus station nearby. Just a little walk you can also find a lot of place to eat. Richard who welcome us is very hospitable and friendly. I was surprised he can also speak a lot of language. Will make sure this place will be on my list again next time when I visit Seoul.
