A Step Back in Time...

Posted 21-Oct-2014
Pros: The bathroom was clean. The price was the best around.
Cons: This hotel is in need of some updating on the outside curb appeal and inside the rooms. The lighting was horrible. The plumbing needs attention.
Location: The area is wonderful with lots to do in Geneva and around Seneca Lake.
Our stay felt like it was happening in the early 90s. It was a very dated room with no glam to speak of whatsoever. The tv in the room was still a tube tv, not a flat screen. Although clean, the room was small and dark. The beds were not comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was none to speak of and it did not drain quickly. The stairway up to our second floor room appeared to be very unsafe and in dire need of a paint job. My reservations for a king size bed were not honored. The housekeeper knocked on our door at 7 am because there was no "do not disturb" sign to be found. It was a strange place overall.

close to Geneva College

Posted 19-Oct-2014
Pros: location
Cons: customer service
Location: geneva college, lake
It is functional. Reasonable priced. In downtown Geneva, close to the college. It is a fine place. They can make this place much better with a little attentiveness.

Close to Lake

Posted 14-Oct-2014
Pros: Price and location
Cons: Rooms were a bit outdated.
Location: Great location. 5 minute drive to Seneca Lake. Near several wineries and parks.
We stayed for a weekend to visit Seneca Lake and the local wineries. Lobby was closed at 10pm, even though it was listed on several websites to be open til 11pm and we called to let hotel know we were running late. Room was mainly used just to sleep in as we were out for most of the days. Had to request new sheets first night as one of the beds had dust/dirt on the sheets. Breakfast options were decent - waffles, bagels, cereal and several juices. Was pleasing for the price and length of stay. Our room offered a microwave and fridge which was a plus.

NOT MUCH OF A MOTEL

Posted 8-Sep-2014
Pros: It was clean
Cons: the mattresses on the bed
We stayed at this motel because the others in the area were booked. It's rate was cheaper than the others but too expensive for what you get. It's an old property and needs updating. It's hot breakfast consists of waffles, otherwise it is contentinal. The matress on our bed was a serta but the cheapest one they make. All springs, no pillowtop. The ice machine in our building was "out of service", not sure how long it had been that way. The hallways smell musty. Our housekeeper made our beds, but nothing else.

Get away weekend

Posted 2-Sep-2014
Pros: Convience
Cons: Better shower heads
Location: The wineries
The room was not clean - the bathroom was dirty. The shower head was terrible, the water just trickled out. No water pressure at all. Took forever to take a shower.

Good for the price

Pros: Price and free wi fi.
Cons: Keep ice machines in repair. Could use an outdoor seating area.
Location: Center of town.
On a busy street, but close to shopping and gas. Free wi fi. Average rooms. Clean. Good enough for the price.

A place to stay

Posted 31-Aug-2014
Pros: Close Waterloo Outlet Mall - got an early start to our shopping.
Cons: Continental breakfast was very limited. Rooms in need of some serious upgrade but it is a basic budget hotel. A little expensive for what we paid.
Location: Did not really experience surrounding Town of Geneva and Lake Geneva. Close to Outlet Mall.
We stayed overnight. Hotel is older and dated but is clean and met our needs in terms of a place to sleep. We were in an older part of the hotel (lots of separate buildings) so perhaps the rooms were nicer elsewhere. Breakfast options were very limited. Rooms were clean but facility very dated, beds were ok.

AVOID!

Posted 27-Aug-2014
Cons: Everything!
Location: Beautiful Finger Lakes
Sheets appeared dirty. Bed spread had holes. Slept in my clothes on top of covers. Didn'f want to catch something. Limited amenities in room. Not worth the $100 per night. Cancelled the second night stay...I would refute the "Best Value" and just say 'cheap and nasty'.
