“Great lobby and service, roomy and had all needed for our family of 5 (and dog).”
Great place for the family and good price. Had everything needed for my family of 5 and dog. Close proximity to all locations, and the breakfast was great. I will go back to this particular Hawthorn Suites, it was a first and I look forward to our next outing.
“Second visit, and it feels like going home!”
We've visited the Seattle area twice now in the past few years, and were lucky enough to pick Hawthorn Suites the first time. Very neat and tidy room, awesome little kitchen. Plus a little fireplace and a patio. I and my family felt very at home here. If you plan on staying for an extended time (ours was 8 days), it's great because you can stock the kitchen and don't have to eat out every meal. Plus free breakfast every day! I felt very cozy there, and it's close enough to Seattle to be convenient, but actually is on the outskirts of Kent (south of Seattle) in a very quiet area. I would definitely recommend this for someone wanting a roomier, homier experience. If there are any negatives, the couch is tiny and so-so, laundry room is $2 per wash or dry. But we'll definitely go back again!
“Apartment like hotel suite”
We had a great time and really liked the apartment feel and space of the two bedroom suite. It's a little bit of the beaten path but a very nice location all the same. The only thing they could improve on is not have the air so low. It felt like the Artic when we got there. We had to go grab some firewood to warm the place up quickly. But it did have a fireplace, which was a plus.
“Glory Days and Past”
This facility has a good layout, and good amenities, but it is tattered and worn and needs paint job. The rooms were spacious for our family of 5, but some of the fixtures were loose, like the handle to our bathroom. The pool was a nice size, but not kept clean during our visit. The towels provided were worn. The breakfast serving warming trays would not stay closed. The paint on the buildings was fading and there was a fair amount of moss on the walkways. I bet this was a nice place 5 years ago, but it is below par for our tastes. A lot of attention to maintenance and upkeep would do wonders.
“Comfortable and roomy”
basic. very spacious suits. poor breakfast. overall - comfortable and much more than functional.10 minutes from the airport.
“Just like home!”
Nice apartment style units. Bright and open with nice ammenities. I found my stay to be just like staying at a friend's house - only more private!
“Good Stay”
Our room exceeded expectations in that we had two private bedrooms/bathrooms and a kitchen. Pleasantly surprised to find three tv's. Had a hard time finding the thermostat as the air conditioning was on quite cold when arriving. It was 52 degrees and the thermostat was located behind the downstairs bedroom door. I turned it off to sleep as it was quite loud in the closet upstairs bedroom. The beds had pillow-top mattress covers and the downstairs bed was more comfy than the upstairs one.
“Booked non-smoking - GOT SMOKING”
check in at the front desk was normal. went to our room and BANG..walked into a wall of smoke. i have a 14 month old baby and we are both non-smokers. the smoke was overwhelming for us, think how bad it is for my baby's lungs. called the front desk and told them I booked a non-smoking room 6 weeks ago and they said they are all booked and said expedia sent over the smoking reservation. so, called expedia and expedia confirmed the NS room reservation. expedia called the hotel and got nowhere. after 1.5 hours with expedia, we went to another hotel. Rebecca of Expedia Lodging Operations was courteous and professional. Pleasure to speak with and the 1.5 hrs was bearable. check out of Hawthorn Suite and the front desk did not apologize and just gave us the $0 balance bill like it was business as usual. how rude. i guess ruining one family's vacation is no big deal for them.
“comfortable and clean rooms”
Would be nice to have a restaurant that is open after 6pm and room service. No nearby places to eat - overall great room and shower.
“Thats what I call a Breakfast!”
This hotel is located in a very convienient location, and the property is well maintained. The suites are 3 stories, so if you get a bottom floor, expect to hear some foot traffic from above. Located right next to a gas station, and my favorite place to get a square hamburger and "Frosty" deserts. The bed and pillows are very comfortable, from my experience this usually means top rate accomodations. The morning breakfast was served on sturdy paper plates, instead of thoose annoying styrofoam things. I was expecting the normal fare, but to my surprise there was bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and french toast. Lots of cereal, drinks, muffins, and fruit also! If I am ever in this area again I will definitely be staying!
