At one time this place was probably very nice but whoever is running it is functioning on bare bones meaning no reinvestment to maintain the place

We appreciate your feedback. This hotel has been around for a very long time, and has had to change with the times. The demand for high end, luxury resorts in this area has diminished greatly. in response, we are making changes to our hotel that include lowering room rates, consolidating existing property and amenities , and changing many of our procedures. While we do understand we are not the same hotel we once were, we hope that we can still offer a high level of quality and comfort while still maintaining a competitive price. We are glad that you chose us, and hope that you choose us again.

Didn’t like how dirty it was. Didn’t like that the back door was propped open all night. Didn’t like that we waited almost an hour when we returned to the hotel in order to be able to get into our room due to the battery in the door not working.

Dog friendly
Good place for dog owners to stay, compared to Econolodge, which is horrible. Desk staff was very helpful and the room was clean with no heavy "Febreze" smell. Bring your own pillows. Our room had a sliding door with a little patio, which was cool. Pool closed, no problem for us. It used to be a swanky hotel back in the day, now I'd say it's just a place to sleep. I would stay there again.

Since the end of the era of fancy business retreats and with the change in the local economy, we have made steps to reduce our price to stay competitive. while this may mean some changes in our available amenities, we pride ourselves in trying to meet our guests needs and provide a comfortable, unique experience for travelers.

The hotel is totally out date the room and surrounding area are old and dirty. The bedding and towel had stains on them. I would never stay there again and feel the representation was not truthful.

very old facility, no breakfast, no towels when we got to the room they switched us from because our first room would not open due to the electronic lock lacking battery. staff was friendly though but it was a disappointing stay. I guess that was enough overnight on our way to NYC.

So it was clean and they were very polite. There indoor pool was locked I don’t even know if it was usable. The mattresses could be upgraded. By the time we left my back was hurting so bad from the spring mattress.

Neither key card worked, ended up the door lock was actually broken and no key card needed (found that out afterward). Place is NOT being maintained in the least. Used to be be a nice place to stay, not any more. Towels are beyond their life, tattered and torn. Hot water for a shower was non-existent.

Formerly a classy hotel, we were disappointed with the condition of the hotel. Finding a former guest’s belongings in the shower made us concerned about the state of cleanliness.

Got sent to a different building not a problem but when i got there spent 20 mins looking for ice. Only to have to drive back to the main building to find out they were out of ice. T.V did not work when went to front desk for help because i didnt even have a phone in my room told me all he does honestly is come play with the channels offered no help. No microwave in room either. Killed 2 different kind of bugs in the room in the first 10mins.

We also apologize for the T.V. this should have been fixed or replaced by the employee. We understand your disdain for your visit here at Nichols village. First room we couldn’t get in. Door needed new battery. Then the second room has an odor and the carpet is wet from the air conditioner. Soaking wet. Could be mild issue under the carpet causing the odor.

Should Keep Guest In Mind
The whole design of the hotel was not design for guest. First, the pool has been out of service for over a year, close to two years. Which my children were looking forward to getting into the pool. If you needed ice, which we did,. We had to get ice from the front desk, (there are stated signs that says ice machines on first and 3rd floors) You have to stand there and wait in the hot lobby which there is no air condition flowing, not even for the workers 🤔 and have trust that the front desk person just gives you ice. No microwaves in the rooms, which we needed. The room keys had to keep getting re-programed in both rooms we had. All though the staff were very nice and professional, I will not stay there again ☹️ I was not pleased with the hotel.

We lived in this town 20 years ago. This was the premier hotel and Conference Center. It was sad to see how deteriorated everything was. Restaurant left 3 years ago. Washcloths were stringy, towels also. I would be embarrassed to send anyone there. Breakfast was cold cereal and bagels. Coffee and tea. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. Sad.

This property is a dump. The hallways were not air conditioned. The rooms had full beds, not queens as advertised. Exterior doors were propped open. A real safety issue.

The room felt clammy. The rugs badly need replacing. They are old, frayed and have large spots. The breakfast was awful...no fruit, or yogurt. Orange juice was in a pitcher in a portable refrigerator..how that passes health codes is beyond me. Nobody at the front desk when I checked out.

Overall the stay at Nichols Village was disappointing. The whole hotel needs to be renovated. The room was dirty (ie. mold in the shower, dirty finger prints on the curtains, etc.). The first day there was no hot water. The fitness room is a pretty gratuitous term for a broken treadmill, broken stationary bike, and broken weight machine. There was bags of garbage sitting in the hallway for two days, and there were bugs in our room. Overall I would not recommend staying here. The only positive was that the staff is friendly.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel needs some serious upgrades. The side door to the rooms would not work at night after we arrived about 10pm. Inside of the door, which we had to prop open with a large rock that was there already, had some apple peels or some fruit refuse inside of the building. Bathroom needs some caulking that is not chipped and unclean looking around the tub. The room was generally clean but the pillows were flat and hard. I can say the staff were very pleasant. It was an alright place to stay but they need to upgrade soon.

Unfortunately back about 3 years, this would have been a 4 star resort. Now that new owners have run it down, barely staffed it, and have closed the pool, spa, restaurant, and everything is in a barely tolerable state, it has been reduced to a 2 star hotel. The staff are doing the best they can to keep the place going, but it is just a matter of a short time that the owners will have to declare bankruptcy, since they cannot continue running the hotel this way. I feel sorry for the young staff trying to run this hotel. They were very nice and did the best they could with the situation which is beyond their control. Shame on the owners.

We are sorry that you had this experience with our facilities. One of the two non-chain hotels in the area, the hotel is very old, dating back to the 70's. While it definitely saw better days back when it was a four star resort, we try to provide a fair pricing for the quality we are able to provide. This place is not worth the money we paid. They had over booked and had to search for a room and eventually found one. But our friends were turned away at 11:50 pm even though they had a reservation and had driven from Montreal. The hallways were dirty and the breakfast was almost non existent. The cot they brought us was missing some parts. The room was a nice size but the sheets they brought us for the cot were dirty and my husband had to go and get another set. My son was afraid to sleep on the cot and sheets. The bright spot was the clerk, Colin, who tried very hard to meet all of our needs. I can't believe Expedia promotes this establishment.
