“Better than I expected!”
We'd read some reviews on this hotel after we booked 7 rooms. Most weren't good. I emailed the manager about the reviews and was assured there was new management. The staff was very friendly and we got into our rooms quickly. The rooms are big and very clean. We didn't see any bugs like some guests had said. The bathroom is plenty big and there is a kitchen with utensils and dishes. Our keycard wouldn't work one time so I went to the office. They radioed the service man and he actually made it to my room to fix it before I did. We didn't have any problems with noise and it's in the perfect location. There are stores and shops circling the hotel on all sides. The staff was very friendly and upgraded my husband and me to a king room when they found out we were there to get married. We couldn't take the upgrade b/c we needed the extra bed for our daughters. I was very satisfied with my overall experience and will be returning there every time we go back to Tybee Island for our family vacation. The price was perfect, the room was perfect, and the service and staff were great. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone. Some people who write bad reviews probably had their expectations way too high. This is not an expensive 5-star hotel. But it's cheap, clean, and the location is perfect!!!
“Spring Break 2011 A plus "We Had A Great Blast!"”
My family and I drove down for a night get away during our Spring Break. At first, I wasn't sure what to expect for the price. I must admit the hotel and surroundings were adequate. It was raining and we couldn't get out much, but we were able to drive and shop. I can't wait to go back during the summer.
“Cheap and Legit”
We had a very late check in, around 11pm. There was a note on the office to call the security guard, he gave us our key no problem. We only stayed one night, but the room was very spacious. Would probably be great for a family. The price was very good and the location was great. It is very close to Abercorn Ext. I did spot one roach in the room that was crawling near the door, I killed it. But besides that, my stay was great. I would return for another stay.
“Basic but Friendly”
I contacted the hotel prior to my arrival to ensure hotel amenities and location (near public transportation and events). Public transportation was really close but the location to down town and the events were not. We were able to endure the long rides and schedules so it wasn't too bad just a little disappointing. What also was disappointing was the advertisement promising a gym associated with the hotel. Luckily there was one nearby but I had to pay (no voucher or discount) and it was not great. The hotel was not clean when I arrived and housekeeping had gone (strange), but they did come first thing in the morning to put on fresh linen, and spruce up a bit. Overall the staff was very friendly and helpful, offering all sorts of advice and tips and seemed to enjoy our patrianage. We had unlimited internet as promised and they met the basic need which for the price was all that was expected. It was near shopping and restaurants which was ideal. The worst thing about the hotel was the neighboring guess. They made a lot of noise over our heads and around us. What's worse they had the nerve to complain about the music which helped us drown out the sound of running little ones and arguing adults. Overall, if you want to go to Savannah, GA and not spend a fortune on luxury accommodations then this hotel will provide you with basic accommodations and leave you with money left to enjoy.
“Its a decent hotel for the money I pay”
forget most of the negative reviews here, they are out of date. This hotel clearly gets renovated recently, everything in the room looks new, there are even new microwave and refrigerator. For the price I paid, there really is nothing to complain about. However, there is a sort of club just next to the hotel, and my room was unfortunately very near to it. A little noisy, but not a big deal.
“nice but stinky”
the room had a nice layout but it smelled of mildew and the shower was a bit small
“not at it best”
my air conditioner was leakin which caused tha capert to be wet and cause a bad smell when u first walk in, tha smell always hit u. had a kitchen but no dishes therefore i wasnt able to cook at all. the wifi was a weak signal.
“OK, for the night!”
Overall, it was ok. The room had a fridge and microwave which I was glad to see. Hotels I normally stay in were booked solid. Being a few steps down from the usual, I would stay here again. I think the price was appropriate. The pictures online are not accurate but the comfort level is. Lastly, I think they need to start adding upgrades, ASAP.
“Served its purpose”
The room served its purpose.
“dirty carpet”
The room smelled very clean. The bathrooms were very clean. We enjoyed having a kitchenette. However, the carpet was filthy. Our feet got dirty from walking on the carpet. We had a hard time getting washcloths and a remote for the TV.
