The low-rise resort hotel consists primarily of one-story, Caribbean-style cottages housing one-bedroom units with shaded porches along a palm-lined "street." Lush tropical landscaping adds to the shady, peaceful, village-like atmosphere. A bayside swimming pool and a private fishing dock can be found on one side of the property; a private beach is accessed through another resort across the road. Patios with barbecues, complimentary chaise lounges and umbrellas around the pool, pet-friendly units, and guest laundry facilities are also offered. Parking is free during guests' stay (limited availability). Business services and complimentary wireless Internet access are available.

The resort's 34 bright, one-bedroom condo-style guest suites (the units are privately owned) all contain separate living rooms and bedrooms, fully-equipped kitchens with modern appliances, dining areas, and shaded porches facing the resort's "street", which is for use by guests only. The interiors are finished with a palette of pale creams and white, with light-colored tile floors and natural and white-painted wood furnishings with bright tropical accents. They feature ceiling fans, air conditioning, cable TVs with VCRs and DVD players, multi-line phones with complimentary long distance calls, and complimentary wireless Internet access.

“A relaxing beach hideaway”
Our stay at this hotel was a no hassel,relaxing time from begining to end.The hotel had everything ready for our arrival.We stayed in a unit that was just steps from the beach.We went to dinner at a restaurant called The Beachside.The dinners we ordered were great as was the service.This restaurant isn't more than 1/2 mile from the hotel.We will no dought book this hotel thru Expedia again.

The accomadation is ideally positioned to enjoy Bradenton beach and anna marie island The accomodation is 1st class..spotless and spacious and in a quiet peaceful setting.

Perfectly located & cottage feel on our favorite... Anna Marie Island. Friendly hosts & prompt clean accomidations. Loved the short walk to the beautiful, quiet beach. Would defintely consider for our next trip to the "Island"... hopefully an 'extended' stay!!
“My family would go back to the Tradewinds in a heartbeat!”
This hotel was just adorable, Key-West style bugelows, quiet, comfy and great location. Easy walk across the street to the beach and right on the bay where you can enjoy fishing or your coffee on the dock. Heated pool, grills available between each cottage, washer and dryer on site. Great amenities provided, beach umbrellas, beach towel exchange and lounge chairs on the shared beach with their other property Tortuga Resort. The units can be somewhat small for 4 adults, for parents and small kids it is perfect. Only 1 tv but who cares when you are on vacation. Mostly 1 bedroom units all with pull out sofas. Next time we would consider the few 2-bedroom units. Loved this hotel and Anna Maria Island. We were there over spring break so it was very crowded but you did not feel that when you pulled into the Tradewinds property. Food was much better across the Cortez bridge along the water, ask the local for restaurant leads and listen to their recommendations.
“Great getaway (just 2 hours from Orlando)”
We (family of 4)stayed here in October 2007 . This was our first time on the Gulf Coast and I just wished we had booked for longer than the 2 nights. We were not entirely sure what to expect but were really pleased by the charm of the hotel and resort . The apartment was clean and tidy and was only a short walk across the road to the lovely beach which was quiet and relaxing. The sea was clean and warm ( much warmer than our North Sea beach town home). The staff were so friendly and helpful. Can't fault this place .
“Great place to chill out in the sun with a loved one”
I was blowed away at the peacfulness, and how well the cottages were mantained. Sitting in a great location for walking and relaxing, with out the noise of a heavy developed area. A great place to relax and spend time on the beautiful beach.
