While the address of the apartment complex was easy to find once you get to the concierge desk, the people there had very little english and were quite unwilling to help. Once we worked out we needed to go to an apartment in order to collect our key, the gentleman there was nice and showed us to our apartment.
My husband and I were booked into the Plaza el Bosque San Sebastian for 5 nights after flying from Australia and waiting to pick up a tour in Lima. On arrival we were immediately upgraded to a suite with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms which was perfect for our stay. We had a small verandah which was pleasant to be able to go outside. Very comfortable king size bed and we slept well. The room was well maintained and the hotel is within an easy walk to a huge shopping mall and numerous restaurants. We felt very safe in the area and the staff couldn't do enough for us. The included breakfast is nice with quite a good range of hot and cold food. The staff all speak English and tours can be booked through the sister hotel Plaza el Bosque Ebro which is only a block away. All in all a great time and we would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a safe and clean place to stay in Santiago.
Great location, close to 2 subway stations, Mercado Central, Plaza de Armas. Not the most upscale part of town, but quite accessible to the rest of the city because of the subways.
Little nervous walking around in the dark.
The staff is amazing - they are very accommodating and very helpful.
The floors aren't swept so it's a little dusty, and there is no air conditioning, so it gets very hot but the service makes up for it.
This is actually not an hotel. It is an apartment. Great location. Very central and close to great restaurants. I liked it a lot because it has everything you need to be comfortable. The apartment is almost new. The downside there is no hotel personnel or any hotel like services.

Right in the Lastarria exclusive district, Mela Blu Apartments offer excellent furnished accommodations in Santiago, Chile …More
Actually they rent you an apartment or flat, this is not really a hotel. But the apartment is very confortable and it has the essential tools for a good stay, the kitchen is great, and the furniture is confy, I recommend this "apart-hotel" for those who like autonomy. Thie location is fantastic near the most interesting neighbourhoods in Santiago, Bellavista and Lastarria. It has direct acces to the Universidad de Chile subway station. The metro train in Santiago is a great and cheap way of trasportation.
"Great little apartment handy for downtown Santiago"
It is a studio apartment in a residential tower. There is a small kitchen and living room area and a decent size bedroom with adjacent bathroom. There is even a little balcony, which is handy for smokers as smoking is banned in the apartment itself. The buildings (there are three twoers I believe, A,B and C) can be accessed via Heurfanos or Merced and the reception for Altura is in tower B room 317. The staff there spoke good english which is handy! Room was clean and presentable, maybe the decor was alittle tired in places. A cleaner comes in every weekday and even does your washing up! Under the apartments there is a supermarket for all your essentials, tea, coffee, sugar etc. Tip - buy soft drinks in the recycled bottles - the packaging is a bit scuffed but it is half the price.
It's very close to Santa Lucia park, which is a nice place to explore and within walking distance of most of the downtown attractions
