The hotel is weird and uninviting. The rooms were beautiful but the shower was very dirty with mold. The locations was great, and the area beautiful, but the atmosphere at the hotel was creepy

Lovely hotel in a great location.
Lovely hotel,a 5 minute walk from the beach and a 10 minute bus ride from the city centre.Our room was spotless and beautifully decorated with a nautical theme.Though we didn't use any of the hotel's facilities, there was an on site gym,disco,bar and restaurant.

Beautiful and well kept hotel. It’s equivalent to a high end hotel in Chicago or NY but a fraction of the cost. Beautiful area with plenty of walking paths and only a few meters to the beach.

Great Hotel
We had a lovely three nights stay at Hotel Santemar. Staff were very friendly and helpful, it is a comfortable and well located hotel only minutes from the beautiful Sardinero beach. I would happily recommend this hotel for a stay in Santander.

Good quality hotel overall. Room was comfortable and clean, parking garage very convenient at 18 euros per night. Free on street parking is also available. There is no outside space to relax in, which would have been nice, considering the beach location. We found limited dining options in the immediate area, particularly on a festival day. The town was vibrant with lots of bars and restaurants but is a 30 minute walk. Beaches are lovely and we enjoyed walking along the promenade.

Very nice smart hotel in nice area
Used for an overnight stop in Santander. In a very nice, - I'd say - quite upmarket part of Santander. It's within a 5 minute walk of one of the main beaches and there are plenty of reasonably priced restaurants/bars within very easy walking distance (which might be important because the hotel restaurant seemed a bit pricey - not that we used it). Great location for the Ferry to Plymouth, which is just a 10 minute drive away.

Stayed for long weekend, hotel is great, staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was a nice size with a huge bed. Nicely decorated and cleaned to a high standard. Would defintely stay again.

Clean but beds and service not up to standard.
I stayed two nights 28-30 June. Rm 636 had two broken beds which were reported and not resolved for my first sleepless night. It took a follow up the second evening to resolve. Not a proactive or apologetic engagement with staff. Very disappointed to pay a decent tariff for a hotel without a serviceable bed. Otherwise, the hotel was clean, fresh and had a comfortable feel. Not what you would reasonably expect.

A hulking '70's facade reveals a very nice resort hotel within. Convenient on site parking. Our room was large and comfortable with a sea view. Comfortable large bed and excellent bath facilities. Several nice restaurants down the street and just steps away from the beautiful beach. Not in the center of town but a pleasant residential area right on the sea.

Fantastic location,hotel has been very successfully renovated,rooms are modern with authentic touches of traditional Spain. Areas around hotel are marvellous great Tapas. Stunning views and beautiful beaches 100 meters from hotel. Santander offers excellent choices in restaurants.would recommend and definitely return.

One night stop over.
Excellent service despite a very late check in. The reception staff all spoke perfect English and even thou this was not the case in the restaurant the service was first class. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. All for a very good price. Brilliant stop over and would be good for a longer stay.

AMAZING
This place is AMAZING, it was clean, comfortable, everything you need for a stayover or long term stay. Unfortunately this was only for one night waiting for a ferry, but we are extremely glad we booked in. If ever we are in the area again, this is definitely on our list of places to stay again. The area was lovely, it had some lovely cafes and restaurants nearby and a chemist, that was extremely helpful and let me have a shield mask free of charge, because I had left mine behind. Definitely can recommend this place.
