“Allways stop there”
Staff, location, chef, all superb
“Diamound on the lake shore.”
Hotel was very quiet. Food in resturant was great and reasonable. Staff was professional and helpful.
“Great lakeside lodging for boaters and swimmers”
We left wishing we could return! The hotel is not new, but the rooms were well appointed and comfortable. We wish we could return to spend more time at this hotel. The hotel is on a great lake-side property. Great dining was within easy walking distance. We walked from from our hotel room a few feet to a quiet, well-maintained public swimming and boating area for an early morning swim.
“beautiful lake view”
The room was very clean with a beautiful view of Ponderay Lake. The beach was well kept and the hotel had a great restaurant.(expensive for dinner, though) Overall, I would stay there again, the only complaint I have is that there was a lot of construction in area and the traffic from highway was re routed through main street. My husband says it is normally a very quiet area, but the main street traffic was very busy during our visit. The hotel, however, was very nice.
“Different”
I booked this off-season for a business trip. It was billed as a waterfront hotel, but the water was farther away than shown in photos. There was some renovation going on, and the area between the hotel and the beach was undergoing reconstruction. It was quite cold while there, and the passageway between the rooms and the glass facade was unheated, so it was chilly-going walking down to reception and restaurant. The hotel provided free internet and a computer in the lobby as well as free coffee. The bar and restaurant were very good. The hotel was in an "iffy" area and near railroad tracks, but I was not disturbed by train noises. Chances are this is a very desirable hotel in season.
“review”
You could hear the person above you walking in the room. Next time I'd want to get on the top floor.
“Very nice and Excellent Location”
nice hotel, great location, large rooms. rooms with patio doors on first floor are great, nice restaurant friendly emploees
“Resting On Its Laurels”
I would recommend this hotel to others if they would understand the requirements of today's travelers, i.e. the internet service was horrible...wired service in this day and age? Luckily I had brought my router, but really. Being on the lake just isn't enough. Good point: Turner Classic Movies on the cable! Good and bad: room on the lakeside but get the second floor rooms. People gawk in your room as they walk by (we were on the ground floor close to the swimming pool) and there are no choice except to accept that or sit in a totally dark room with the curtains pulled. Bad point: no screen on the sliding glass door so you couldn't have the door open and enjoy the weather. Bonus: the restaurant on the premises was REALLY excellent and we enjoyed several great meals there. .
“Service and Location is great.”
Hotel seems to be in transition in that parking is in need of updating, additional parking, repaving and general cleaning. Airconditioning was not working in 2nd floor hallway. Location to downtown shops and resturants is within easy walking distance. Beautiful view of lake and private beach access and indoor swimming pool make it a great place for families.
