You get what you paid for
Cheap rooms - you get what you paid for! Cockroaches and ants in the bathroom feels like home and are not scared of humans. Prepare some slippers for shower as it looks dangerous to go in bare-feet. Interior looks old and used stains and cracks - though room itself quite clean. White bedsheets but super hard pillows. Staff very friendly and helpful - hotel has onsite tour operator and restaurant. Food is edible and cheap, not the best in Sandakan but good for lazy stay in. Offers room service. Good and quiet air conditioning. Location not great, requires walking 20-25 minutes to town centre through poor neighbourhood, but good opportunity to say hello to local kids. Overall not dangerous and could be tolerated for one-two nights, but wouldn't recommend for longer stays. Try if you want to experience some local low-level extreme!

Room ok Wifi Not ok There’s not much restaurant near by. The hotel gotnown restaurant but we never had the chance. The place easy to find. Not far from city center. Nearby with toyota.

Running MOUSE!!!
1.There's a mouse in the room! Woke up at midnight for a toilet break and saw mouse running on the floor. 2. Water kettle provided not usable. It's rusty and totally covered with dusts. Good thing the hotel receptionist gave a better replacement. 3. Place is pretty okay for price though. 4. WiFi connection was slow.

Hotel needs a bit of tender loving care
Wonderful location with a fabulous restaurant nearby (The Penang), shops for almost everything, cheap and frequent mini buses into town and a staff to die for. Lovely foyer and lift works perfectly but rooms could do with a lick of paint. Problems with hot water but was given key to another room for showers (as I was happy to stay where I was) and the wi fi reception is woefully low. Restaurant on the premises which caters for most tastes but I preferred to go out. Snooker hall and bowling alley very close should you like that kind of activity and locals are kind and friendly. I actually loved it there, found the location convenient for my sightseeing tours to the animals and truly enjoyed my stay. If you want splendour then this hotel will not be for you but it is cheaper than many and you won't find a more pleasant and competent staff who will do all they can to accomodate your every wish. By the way - ask for your bedroom to be cleaned, sheets changed etc as they do it for free but only upon request ....... something I did not know until I departed. Will be going back next year.

There was no electric kettle and fridge as what was advertised on Hotels.com. There was also no drinking water and drinking glasses. The coffee table was too small and enough to fit 3 coffee cups. The phone in the room could not be used to call other guests in another room. The other rooms in which my family were in had all the basic amenities and had very different standard than my room. The rooms in 4th floor look nice and new with all the amenities such as kettle, fridge, drinking glasses and they did not have to request for them. I have found that the hotel manager was not friendly and was a bit rude. He said he did advertised on the website that the kettle is provided upon request. I told him that I was not happy with the difference of standard for the family rooms between 4th flr and 2nd flr and I was being charged the same rate for both family rooms. He said my room has a queen bed and a single bed just like other family room. I said my point is that other family room has a kettle and a fridge whilst mine don't have and I was being charged the same rate. He asked me how much I paid for the family room per night. I replied RM72. He replied, there are no other cheap hotel with that price around except them. The surroundings around the hotel is a bit rundown and lack of security. There are two shops in short walking distance. Ladies have to be careful walking alone around the premises as there are some people that appeared to be foreigners hanging around the area.

Check In & Check Out not smoothly
I'm booking via internet from the website Hotels.com & already paid using my credit card. My reservation was guarantted and all paid for. Sadly, when we're arrived around 5pm, no rooms available. We were booked family room (triple) but we got for awhile duluxe double room 315. The room was great and so adoreable. Around 9pm, we got back our exactly Family Triple Room 202 but we were very shocked because no mini fridge there. Bathtub, wardrobe and carpet were gone, huhu! Thanks to one of their staff (men) that gave our room 315 for a while because all of us felt tired and must got rest just for a moment. Check in and check out also take time and not very friendly. I give 2.5 stars.

Great stay, but away from town centre
Excellent staff, very accomodating to our peculiar travel plans (we were away for five days, they let us leave our stuff in the room unpaid!), unfailingly helpful. If the weather was a little less warm it would be an easy half hour walk to Sandakan centre, but as it is it's an easy bus or taxi. The location looks bad on first sight, it's a light industrial area on the main dual-carriageway out of town, but with more familiarity with how Malaysia works it's full of restaurants, local shops, the town cinema, and has a couple of amazing Buddhist temples within walking distance.

An Unpleasant Stay
Family room that I booked was unfit for stay due to damp and mouldy air. It was replaced with a standard room with extra mattress. 3 out of the 5 nights stay were hit with water disruptions. 2 out of the 5 nights were disturbed by noises made by students staying on the same floor til 1 am. Complaint was not properly handled by staff in revealing the room that made the complaint as students further disturbed my family's sleep by making repeating calls to my room and put down phone when I answered the calls. However, I would like to thank one of the staff (sorry for not getting the name of that staff) who offered to carry 2 pails of water for my family to clean up on the morning before we checked out.

市街地から多少は離れるが、静かで快適な客室
サンダカンの市街地から、徒歩30分と 若干市街地からは離れるが、ホテル近くまで公共交通が走ってるので、出歩くのにはまたく困らない また徒歩圏内にパサマラン(夜市)や地元の人向けの食堂が多数ありますし、コインランドリーや飲料を売る店もあるので滞在には困らない

Smelly carpet and the wifi didnt work. When went to the room we Had to ask them to change the pillowcase, since it was full of stains. But we got an extra pillow for that. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Personal sehr hilfsbereit. Hotel ist leider im schlechten Allgemeinzustand und wird auf Verschleiß gefahren. Tote Kakerlake im Zimmer. Es stank extrem nach Baygon. Wasser im Bad war am letzten Tag weg, musste Eimer für Toilette benutzen. WLAN ging so gut wie nie, ein Licht im Zimmer ging immer von allein an und aus, super in der Nacht! Kam mir vor wie in ner Disco. Ich glaube ein Hostel wäre besser gewesen.
