Very comfortable hotel worth every penny.
It is very good hotel. We got a free upgrade to the room with a great view. Bed and bedding are very comfortable, a room is very quiet, bathroom looks like brand new, water pressure is strong. The breakfast is another bright point, plenty of choices from fruits (cut and whole), yogurt, eggs, cheeses, bacon, ham, spainish ham, …. We walk all way to old town along beach, and took bus 16 back to the hotel (run every 30 minutes). Staff there are extremely nice with good English so made us sightseeing much easier.

Beautiful view & helpful staff
The hotel rate included parking, which was a big plus. We also appreciated the staff sharing suggestions about food and transportation options. I also liked having a pool!

Lovely Hotel with views over San Sebastian, 10 minute walk to the beach. Just a bit steep walk back up the hill but then you wouldn't have the view if you didn't climb the hill. Breakfast was delicious.

Excellent! Great place to stay! I stayed 3 nights in a cuadruple room. Ample space, comfortable beds, nice private bathroom. Everything very clean. But the best was the staff: very friendly and flexible, willing to help.

Quick stopover
An unexpected stay to break a long journey. This was an excellent, comfortable hotel with great service and a very good breakfast. The town of San Sebastian was lovely to visit as well - though the hotel is quite a steep walk above the town. If taking your car into town, be aware of the complex one-way system and head for the underground car parks.

Great place
Nice hotel in a decent location. Approximately 40 minute walk to old town, or 10 minutes to the beach. Ample parking which is a huge plus. Room was small but clean. Didn’t use the facilities such as the pool because we were only there for one night.

It was a nice hotel in a nice quiet part of town. A bit of a walk down a hill into town but a pleasant walk and a clean, nice city. Small rooms but they are clean.

The view from the hotel was nice. The hotel is situated up on a hill. It is a bit far from the center. The hotel is nice, but the beds are not that comfortable.

Excellent hotel, reasonable pricing, great breakfast at reasonable pricing, free parking, very good swimming pool. On the local bus line route that will take you in 5 min to the old town Donostia (an 8 Euro taxi ride in any event). If I have the luck to come back to San Sebastian, I would choose the Avenida Hotel.

Noisy hotel
We have stayed here before, however this visit we had a room overlooking the car park next to the entrance where we could hear everybody coming and going, especially the group of 5 bikers who insisted in starting their engines 15-20mins before they pulled off yesterday. The walls are paper thin, so this morning at 5:30 we could hear the people above waliking around in their boots for 45mins before they left or went to bed! If we stay here again I will insist on a room facing the pool side of the building. By the way there is no complimentry tea/coffee/ water so at €140 per night is not cheap!

The room is simply perfect - large, bright, clean, crisp bed linen, spotless bathroom and view. In fact, everything is spotless. Outside parking is greatly appreciated. Bare in mind the location of the hotel, on top of a steep hill, should you want to walk to town or go to the beach.

Good value hotel
This hotel is a fair walk out of the main action but we found it a good way to start the day. Reception will organise a taxi when required and it only cost about €8 to get to the old town entertainment area

Excellent hotel a bit away from the frey
It is quite simply, a wonderful hotel. Lovely in every way. Large spacious room and bathroom. Excellent beds, linens, bath sheet towels of superb quality, and very generous and good bath products. We only stayed 3 nights but wished we were staying longer. Very personable and helpful front desk staff. Ample parking, although we walked into town each day. It’s up a hill so you get your exercise, but not a bad hike and through a lovely safe neighborhood with excellent views. Gorgeous swimming pool in a lovely garden, with ample lounging area. The bonus: that amazing view of the Bay and ocean beyond, the long beautiful waterside promenade, which was a joy to walk, and the port, old city and new city spread out below. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Several restaurants a10 minute walk down the hill including a great burger at the tennis club restaurant aptly named Wimbledon.
