"Loved this place"
Very old buidling with lots of charm. We had a small room with old but cute furniture with a tiny walk-out terrace with a poor view and had to share a bathroom, but we loved it! It was liking stepping into the past. Family owned hotel with the proprietor works the front desk and serves you breakfast. There is free wi-fi. Very hard to find but so is everything else in Venezia. There is a grocery shop across the road. They served a very good free breakfast. Not a 5 star hotel but we loved it.

"Beautiful B&B with great location"
We loved our stay in San Rocco. Four of us (two couples) arrived here from our cruise ship, took the People Mover to Piazzale Roma, then walked about 10 minutes to the B&B. It was easy to find and located on a very quiet street. The rooms we were given were on the top floor (2nd flr) and were connected by a private hallway which meant we could close the hall door and leave our bedroom doors open when we wanted to, almost like having a suite. Our rooms, #5 & #6, both had balconies, #6 being slightly larger with a 3rd window and bathtub. The other windows were doors which opened onto juliette balconies and we loved listening to the frequent church bells of Venice. The windows looked down onto the front of the B&B and the back yards of other buildings and were very quiet. The shutters were closed & opened with push buttons and darkened the rooms when you took them all the way down. The breakfast was on the first floor, with both indoor seating and a patio area covered by vines. They served 2-3 kinds of pastries, two meats, sliced cheese and small rolls, two cereal choices and yogurt. There were 2-3 juices, our favorite was the orange, lemon, and carrot juice, a delicious combination, and milk, water. The server brought coffee, tea or cappuccino for you. When we asked, they gave us a dinner recommendation for Bacco Felice, which was close and a very good, neighborhood restaurant we dined at twice. We felt very safe here, both inside and outside this lovely B&B.

"Great little place near to the Rialto..."
I had a really enjoyable stay here. It's a little place, and a bit dated (in the typically Italian way!), but excellent when it comes to location and facilities. There was Sky TV in the room, and the wifi was FREE and WORKED, which was something of a novelty based on previous experience. The chap on reception, who I now presume was the owner, was absolutely lovely and beyond helpful (was happy to make reservations at restaurants, museums, etc.!), and was just lovely to chat to - he showed a real interest in what I was in Venice for! Location is excellent, a straight 5 min. stroll away from the Rialto! Brekkie was one of the best I've ever had in a "budget"(ish) hotel is this kind. Only let down is that room service was a bit ropey and not exactly thorough, and the lady who checked me out (admittedly v.early!!) was very rude.

"Fantastic B&B"
This B&B was booked last minute and was absolutely perfect for our four night stay in Venice. Fantastic location right near San Toma Vaporetto stop and the traghetto and only a 10 minute walk from the Piazzale Roma (bus station) and the Santa Lucia train station. We were emailed a code to enter as we arrived after 1.30pm. Room was perfect for our needs, large and well furnished with private bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities (a rarity in Europe). The wifi was good if a little slow at times but easily sufficient. Breakfast was superb, we had orange juice, coffee and croissants, toast, breads and cheese each morning although they do have cereal as well. Marco is a host, he appears to speak many languages and is so polite and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Venice. Highly recommended.

"Great little find!"
Great hotel, you can easily access it by water taxi it water bus or if you don't have much luggage to pull around the walk isn't too bad either. Quiet location just minutes away for many shops, resturants and many tourist attractions. The staff were friendly and answered our questions. They even arranged a free tour for us to the Murano glass factory which was a nice treat. We would absolutely stay here again :)

"Great hotel for authentic and peaceful stay Venice"
Authentic accommodation, friendly and helpful. Garden room and courtyard lovely. Personal and quaint, so much nicer for a stay in Venice than a chain or big hotel. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Very peaceful but close to all the sights. The recommended restaurant was authentic, great food and made a fuss for my daughter birthday.

"Exceptional!"
My wife and I stayed here recently for 4 nights. Firstly, the staff at the hotel, particularly the manager, were brilliant. This made our stay very enjoyable and for this we would return. The hotel is quaint and traditionally decorated located a little way out of the centre of Venice. We were allocated the attic room which was small (and accessed by 3 flights of stairs) but had the luxury of a private balcony/patio area. All aspects of the hotel was clean and welcoming and it had the atmosphere of a family-run hotel. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be pleased to frequent the Falia Hotel again soon. Many thanks.

Pocket Guide: San Polo, Venice Business Hotels

Home of the Rialto Market, San Polo is the busiest 'sestiere' (district) after San Marco. For local colour, great little shops, bars and cafes, the Rialto market area is a must. Dining on the Grand Canal next to the iconic Rialto Bridge is a romantic Venetian cliché. Near the bridge, the Ca' Pesaro is home to the Museum of Modern Art while 16th-century masterpieces are on show at the Frari church and Scuola Grande di San Rocco.
